They weren't busy so one of the staff came and REALLY helped me with him. I was thrilled. He's now clean for the first time in months. I just love that place.

Paw Tales Lodge & Spa
1575 25th Ave NE, HickoryI have two sweet Bichons who are regularly groomed at Paw Tales. My male Bichon also goes to daycare for socialization once per week. On April 7, after finishing a vet appointment in the next county over, my female Bichon got spooked in the parking lot, pulled out of her collar and ran. At first she went behind the Vet's office and approached the other boarding kennel owned by the owners of Paw Tales. During the first part of her scary adventure, apparently she and I appeared on the kennel's security cameras. After searching for hours with no success, as I was standing in front of the Vet clinic, several full cars pulled up. It was the owner and staff of Paw Tales. They had seen and recognized Essie on their cameras, and without being asked, they showed up and proceeded to spend at least three hours searching the thick woods, full of vicious briars, behind the Vet clinic. They planned to come back the next day to continue searching, but by then I had started working with Epic Pet Recovery, who advised against large searches after the first 24 hours. So Paw Tales staff pitched in with posting posters, handing out flyers and sharing posts and alerts online. They continued to check in on the search, offering prayers and support. When after ten days of being lost in the woods, my girl came home, the staff at Paw Tales shared in my joy. I was so touched by the owner and staff taking the initiative to come to the site where she was lost, to help search for Essie, without being asked. I truly believe that the Paw Tales staff cares for my dogs like they're family, rather than seeing them as just a job. That means a tremendous amount to me, especially after almost losing my sweet girl forever. This, on top of great grooming and daycare experiences at Paw Tales, allows me to highly recommend their services to all.

At Viewmont they wouldn't listen when I told them I thought he had Cushing's disease. For two years I had him there for not sleeping through the night, accidents in the house, chugging water, and getting sores all over him. Dr. Bill listens. She really goes above and beyond and her staff is just as amazing. They treat you like family.

27 13th Ave NE, HickoryWe grew up and started our family in the area. I joined the military and we moved away for a few years and now we are back local. Our usual vet was Dr. Hill, the 1st one all the way through the younger one. We had good relationships with all of them and their employees. Upon returning, we weren’t welcomed kindly at all and decided things obviously have changed there and did not want to deal with that.
We searched and called this Vet. The staff on the phone was quick to get us an appointment which is really what we needed, quickness. The dogs needed to get a full check up with a new vet since moving.
When I arrived at the appointment the front desk staff was really just plain rude and unnecessarily short and left me guessing if I needed to sit down? Stay there? Answer questions? Where did I pay when I was done because no one said anything? etc.
The vet (Dr. Gruber) and our Vet Tech (Jessie) were great to work with. I really enjoyed them and I feel they were absolutely incredible with Max. I couldn’t be happier with that level of care. They really gave him a good once over which is what he needed.
Pricing was fair considering the amount of care Max needed. Time in and out was great, no wait (other than at the counter wondering what to do, where to go, and who to talk to).
I’m willing to put up with a little “uncalled-for sass”, if the vet is good with my dogs. I'll consider staying for now because of that. I hope they read this and make some changes with the people up front such as training, “encounter reviews” on the cameras, etc.

1205 Old Lenoir Rd, HickoryI brought my very sick Syrian hamster Minnie to be seen. They diagnosed her very quickly and unfortunately she had to be euthanized. I was treated with nothing but genuine kindness and compassion, and so was she. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during such a hard time. And they made such a beautiful clay mold of her paws. I highly recommend All Hearts if you need your hamster to be seen.

At Blue Skies, your pet's examination and most treatments are performed in the same room. I really like and prefer this method. They will give you all the options for treatments / sometimes surgeries, but they do not pressure you. Blue Skies is definitely the Preferred Veterinary Hospital in Catawba and surrounding counties!

They stepped in and helped my dog, Sampson, when another vet office originally did nothing for him. As a pet owner, that feeling of not knowing what to do or who will help is heartbreaking — and they changed that for us.
The doctor was incredibly patient, compassionate, and knowledgeable. He didn’t rush us. He took the time to really examine Sampson, explain everything clearly, and answer all of my questions. You can tell this isn’t just a job to him — he genuinely cares about the animals and the families who love them.
Shadow, the vet tech, was so kind and gentle with Sampson. She made him feel safe, and she made me feel heard. In a stressful situation, her warmth meant more than she probably realizes. The front desk receptionist was also so welcoming and caring from the moment we walked in.
When your dog is hurting, it’s emotional and scary. This team treated Sampson like he mattered — and that means everything to me. I’m beyond thankful for the care, compassion, and professionalism they showed us. I wouldn’t trust my dog anywhere else.

Neat spot, good atmosphere. We sat inside. The cashier stared at us the whole time and asked us to hurry. They told us we had a limit of an hour inside. We didn't question it and left. 5550 B And J Hosiery Mill St, HickoryFantastic, Reputable, caring and honest! I got my 1st chihuahua from Karen 30 years ago, 2nd and 3rd 15 yrs ago and my 4th 2 weeks ago! All my chihuahuas were very healthy and had the best temperament. This last chihuahua is a teacup and is so precious!!! I got her at 4 months amd she is a little under 2 lbs. Karen is so kind and you can tell that she absolutely loves and cares for the health and well being of all her animals before they find their forever homes.
I had just got out of the hospital when I got my Lillibet and the dog food I ordered didnt come in the box that I had previously ordered. I let Karen know and she mentioned how important it was to keep her on the same food she was accustomed to eating. She was so concerned that she drove to my house that morning and brought me a bag!!! That was over and beyond caring so my babies sugar wouldn't drop because she wasn't eating the food that my other chihuahua was eating. Like I said, Lillibet was the 4th chihuahua that I got from ( Karen) Parkers Precious Puppies and I highly recommend her family run kennel. If you are looking for a happy, healthy and well cared for pet- call them. You will be 100% satisfied.
