Paws & Claws of Morganton
107 Craftsman Dr, MorgantonAwesome place to Kennel your dogs. I went away for 8 days and left my two large dogs there. They gave me updates with pics on how they were doing. Great service! I like the extra packages for the dogs while they are there. Some of the options are grooming, extra treats and play time and one and one time with the staff. The staff is great with the dogs and courteous with the public. I called them alot during my trip and they always treat me kindly and answered my questions patiently. I highly recommend this place for your next place to Kennel your dogs.

Tattle Tails
3088 NC-18, MorgantonTook both of my dachshunds there for a nail trim. One of which does not like getting his nails trimmed at all. They were both awesome and patient with him. We will definitely be back for sure!

Pet Care

Morganton Animal Clinic
1345 N Green St, MorgantonHow much they charge to check out a little chihuahua that's 15 years old, she doesn't eat much she gags all the time like she got lint or something in her throat and when my wife takes her out to do the bathroom thing she sorta staggers and then falls over like she drunk or something. Is it safe to give her an 81mg baby aspirin to see if that helps

Dr. Don Hemstreet DVM
1345 N Green St, MorgantonI am on my fourth Pomerian and they have always been good to my dogs. Just had my latest go through surgery for kidney stones. Was worried that they could get them on a small dog like him but they did (eight of them). Friendly staff and very responsive to my needs.

Burke Animal Clinic
1034 E Union St, MorgantonWe rescued a kitten that had his tail bitten off leaving only a few inches. After testing and first shots they gave him antibiotics to see if there was any chance of it healing on it's own. Unfortunately it did not and the rest of the tail needed to be amputated. AFTER discussing ALL the options and ALL the risks the appointment was made and surgery was performed a few days later. We were so worried because with this type of amputation there was a risk that our Milo could be incontinent since the injury was so close to his little butt . Milo did great. And Dr. Mark did too.. The whole staff was SUPER SUPPORTIVE and really helped us feel at ease through out the whole process. They discussed everything in detail as well as pricing so there were no surprise charges . So thank you Burke Animal Clinic

Medicine Man Veterinary Hospital, PLLC
1001 E Union St, MorgantonSome say that you get what you pay for. So I will say that the medicine man is a little more expensive but I have seen him do miraculous things with animals. His staff is always so pleasant and willing to help in any way.

Pet Sitting & Training

Top Dawg K-9
3515 NC-181, MorgantonIf you aren’t willing to learn how to handle and train your dog, don’t bother with any training. Otherwise, we highly recommend Top Dawg. The skills our golden learned through these classes have saved his life and our sanity on more than one occasion. When we adopted our newest puppy we let him settle in for a few weeks then enrolled in beginner classes with Les !

Fonta Flora Brewery - Morganton
317 N Green St, MorgantonI realized that I never wrote my review from 2019, so here goes.
Fonta Flora was one of the best stops on this trip and certainly worth the extra hour or so out of the way. Every single beer was solid. I liked the barrel aged lager that was on tap. I found that to be both enjoyable and unique. The service was stellar and the atmosphere laid back. My kind of place. I look forward to returning one day. Highly recommend!

Sidetracked Brewery
609 S Green St, MorgantonBeer was good, staff was friendly and helpful. It's a good open space and I don't think it would be possible for them to have more games for entertainment. It was perfect for our kids, but we had fun playing too. If you don't bring quarters, they have some on hand instead of a coin machine.

root & vine
216 E Union St, MorgantonFirst time here and it did not disappoint. There is a nice mixture of apps and entrees. Fresh salad and amaz8ng dressings. The ribeye was huge and cooked perfectly. Mahi was moist and flavorful. Duck is to die for and the mushrooms a great alternative. Highly recommend

Treat
100 W Union St, MorgantonEating in this restaurant on the courthouse square in Morganton was the perfect ending to our 43rd anniversary, with the best food we've ever had on one of these trips! This restaurant has a wonderfully talented chef, who puts her own unique spin on everything. We particularly loved the brussel sprouts with goat cheese and hot honey appetizer and the Santorini chicken. There is a perfect balance of flavor, atmosphere, creativity and charm, with a very welcoming staff. We will definitely be back!

Mountain Burrito LLC
408 W Fleming Dr, MorgantonThis place is awesome. Food was great. Carne asada had a really nice flavor but was a bit tough. My wife’s chicken was very tender so I’ll do that next time around. Love all the topping options. I had a burrito with carbs asada, rice, black and pinto beans, peppers and onions, jalapeño slaw, pickled onions, and fresh jalapeños, corn and pepper salsa, and shredded cheese. Staff was great at recommending toppings and making sure my burrito was full. Dining room is a bit small but a good bit of outdoor seating. Our kid loved the beans, rice, and queso kids meal.
ETA: online ordering would be a great feature to have!

Cup n' Spoon Coffee & Frozen Yogurt Bar
A110 Morganton Heights Blvd, MorgantonI was out looking for a Dairy Queen to get a banana split but there was not one in this town. Lucky for me because I found Cup N Spoon....the most amazing Ice Cream/ Cold Coffee and yogurt shop in America! Oh yes it's that amazing. And the little gal behind the counter is a great help to customers. She is amazing as is the shop. Make it a point to stop here because it's not everyday you get to enjoy such a place.

Bones Jones Burgers and Butchery
3221 NC-126, MorgantonKinda pricey. Wasn't told about extra fees. Ask for some ranch and it was 50 cents. I get it, but when you pay $15 for a burger a little ranch is not killing your bottom line. Atmosphere was pleasant and the food was good
