The Bascom: Center for the Visual Arts is a real gem and a vital cultural resource for Western North Carolina. It is a great place with always a new art exhibit, featuring many types of art which changes regularly, amazing guest artists, and incredible relocated buildings. The venue includes multiple galleries, a workshop with demonstrations, a wonderful gift shop with many reasonably priced and beautiful pieces of artwork for sale, and a kids' area. The grounds feature a covered bridge and a nice nature trail. The Bascom offers a wide variety of classes to the public and creates visual art experiences that inspire. It is an exceptional place to visit, highly recommended for both community members and visitors to the area.
