“I want to take a moment to recognize exceptional customer service that truly stood out during my recent experience with Labcorp.

My rheumatology doctor sent a lab order to the Labcorp location at 8401 Medical Plaza Drive. I attempted to complete my labs there on two separate occasions, but each time after checking in, the system instructed me to come back later. After the second attempt, I decided to call another Labcorp location — the Gilead Road office — to see if they could assist.

The young lady who answered the phone was incredibly professional, patient, and kind while answering all of my questions. She took the time to review the order with me and kindly reminded me to make sure I drank water beforehand because the lab order also included a urine sample. That level of attention to detail and willingness to help was truly appreciated.

When I arrived at the Gilead Road location, I asked if she was the person who had spoken with me on the phone so I could personally thank her. She confirmed it was her and told me her name was Ci Ci. I made sure to give her kudos for her professionalism and the excellent customer service she provided.

I then asked for her manager’s information because I wanted to make sure her great work was recognized. When the supervisor answered the phone, she initially sounded hesitant — which honestly says a lot about what customer service teams usually experience — because most calls they receive are complaints rather than compliments. I was happy to let her know that this call was different. I wanted to make sure Ci Ci received positive recognition for the way she treated me.

In a healthcare system where patients are often stressed and navigating multiple appointments, small acts of kindness and professionalism make a huge difference. Ci Ci demonstrated exactly what patient-centered service should look like.
