The Greystone Inn is a lovely, quaint, charming, and romantic hotel situated on beautiful Lake Toxaway. The property and lake views are gorgeous, offering privacy and a remote location, though the drive is grueling and the mountain roads are twisty. It provides a luxury, five-star resort experience that feels special, though it is pricey and will burn a hole in your pocket. Rooms are cozy, spacious, clean, and well-maintained, often featuring beautiful fireplaces. Some rooms, however, may have noise issues from floors above. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Service is high quality, with amazing touches like complimentary hot apple cider, lemon water, pillow mints, and turndown service. The food is excellent, delicious, and done exceptionally, though the restaurant is pricey and has a smaller menu. The on-site country club also offers fantastic food and service, with a dress code. Pairings are excellent. Some meal services may be limited on certain weekdays. Activities include a golf course with a stay-and-play package, boat rides on the lake, and spa services, though boating is expensive and spa massages can be lacking in quality. Some planned activities, like boat rides or spa appointments, may sometimes suffer from miscommunication. The pool may be closed and the lake cold depending on the season. The location is excellent for accessing nearby hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Overall, it is a highly recommended getaway for a memorable experience.
Enjoyed a relaxing 20th anniversary weekend. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the lake. The lake is quiet and relaxing. Food in the onsite restaurant was good. We would go back.
