“This nonprofit organization continues to work on sharing and saving architectural structures. They are extremely knowledgeable on historical material and local history.”
“The Help Hub at the Harrelson Center.
There is an understanding in America that people of a community are better suited to assist those in their community more effectively and efficiently than any government entity or agency. While I the truth is we need all of it to be there for those who find themselves in times of need, I am so glad that places like the Help Hub at the Harrelson center exist.
The Help Hub staff are professional even if only voluntarily so. They are compassionate, passionate and conscious. After the passing of our Mother and Father I found myself in a situation where I was without running water in my home. I found the Help Hub and was glad to know that they existed and had the capability to offer meaningful help for our family to help us solve our water billing issue with CFPUA. They met with me several times to discuss assistance options and pledged a meaningful amount towards our water bill left by our deceased father. Although due to CFPUA policy, water was never able to be restored to our home, I am so grateful for the people at the Help Hub simply knowing that places like this exist where people can get assistance for needs that are essential to life such as water, electricity, food instability, temporary transportation, and other resources.
I personally sat in their waiting room observing and listening to the stories of others in their time of need and one thing became clear. Places like the Help Hub at Harrelson Center are incredibly important and must continue to be supported by the communities they serve. Government assistance has its place, but it is always people in the communities served by organizations and governments alike that perform the real work, and it is for that reason that I strongly advocate for contributing to the Help Hub or any other community support organizations and do support them by any means that I am able. Just because I could not utilize their assistance at that time does not mean I could not recognize their incredible value in just knowing they are there for those who most need it.”
“Everything is bogo, so you only pay for half of what you pick out. Friendly staff and decently organized shop with large sections of clothes for $1 or less. Can’t beat that! I found j crew pajamas, vintage gold label Victoria’s Secret (not worth a ton but something I love to find), and a Lucky Brand dress. They had a TON of records.”
“Downtown Wilmington is a wonderful place to visit; unique shops, fabulous small business food and drinks. WDI supports those businesses and helps maintain the beauty of downtown.”
“I had a nest in my front yard. After the babies were born a week later I found one of the baby birds injured on the ground. I quickly reached out to Skywatch and was quickly messaged back. I was given helpful information on where to drop the bird off. I was also given the necessary directions on how to pick up the bird and bring it to Skywatch.
Thanks for Skywatch tor Helping this little bird!”
“Amazing work made locally by kids! The man inside took time to explain to my friend and I the back story of the place and how it operates! All of the work kids make that is purchased, is given back to the kids. This is an amazing place for kids to learn so many different skills!”
“Michelle and Andy are the reason I love this restore so much! They make every trip so welcoming and inviting, I shop here more often than I should just to make sure to see them every week! Thank you for being who you are, you are appreciated and make my day better every time I see you!”
“One of Leland's favorite thrift shops, the store is very organized and clean. You'll find great prices on high end items here. Just like most thrift shops it can be a hit or miss but if you take the time to go through all the racks, you'll be sure to find some great things. Lots of great furniture they put out in the morning. The staff is very helpful and they have some nice items under the front desk too.”

“ShanRieka Cooper and her staff atBoys & Girls Club of Southeastern North Carolina were absolutely phenomenal!!!We love working with them and have become a huge part of our entertainment family!!”
“Nice staff, decent options.I have noticed that some of their furniture has been refurbished/diy'd and can still be considerably pricey to be found at a Habitat store. Otherwise - I do suggest and like this place. The one off of Market Street is bigger though if you're really on the hunt for something that day.”
“My grandparents Pete and Angie Hofman are retired salvation army officers, so I grew up in this church. Some of my most wonderful experiences are because of salvation army. If I had means of transportation me and my kids would go on Sundays. Definitely should build another location for the church!”
“I am extremely impressed with Good Shepherd's House and the work they do to support our community. Their mission to provide food, shelter, and support services to individuals and families in need is truly inspiring. The staff and volunteers are passionate and dedicated to their work, and they go above and beyond to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve. The shelter is clean, safe, and welcoming, and the meals they provide are delicious and nutritious. I appreciate the various programs and resources they offer to help people get back on their feet and achieve self-sufficiency. Good Shepherd's House is a shining example of a non-profit organization that truly cares about the well-being of the community, and I would highly recommend supporting their mission in any way you can.”
“The cashier at this location is the most friendly person on the planet. I'm not sure what she puts in her coffee each morning (or if she even drinks coffee), but we could all use more of what she has. I love that they make it super easy to donate. You drive up, open the door, and toss (gently, of course) your items in the bin. The store is clean for a thrift store, and I usually find something to buy during every visit. Love this place!”
