If I could give a negative star rating, I would. We helped our daughter purchase a truck from Abernethy Chevrolet on Monday, August 8th - a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado with 30,000 miles, certified pre-owned. Certified pre-owned meaning Abernethy gave it a 172 point inspection prior to listing it for sale on their lot. Our college aged daughter saved and saved to put money down on the truck of her dreams..... On Tuesday, August 9th she drove back to college in her new truck. Tuesday night the truck started shaking and making strange noises. Warning lights were flashing and it was obvious something was terribly wrong. She called home in tears but thankfully was able to nurse the truck back to her house. I of course called Abernethy the next morning... you would have thought that I was calling to say thanks. There was zero concern or remorse for what had happened literally less than 48 hours after leaving their lot. Furthermore; the salesman had the audacity to say "its 3 days OR 150 miles" knowing full well that my daughter had to drive over 150 miles to get back to school. Pretty much saying, too bad sorry about your luck. My husband and I both called REPEATEDLY to the sale manager with no return call, we even had him paged, nothing. We called again no answer even after the receptionist told us she could see him sitting at his desk! We took the truck to a local dealer - it needed a WHOLE NEW ENGINE!! How does 172 point inspection miss that? It doesn't. The local dealer that helped to replace the engine was way more responsive and apologetic then Abernethy was. 172 point inspection would have caught the issue, they frankly just didn't care. I have never experienced such horrible business processes, total disregard for the customer. I told them about the engine needing to be entirely replaced... "well, you know... you can never tell with a used vehicle" is what I was told. WHAT!! less than 48 hours later... not great customer service. Not even okay customer service. From the salesman to the sales manager, service manager, and owners themselves, by far the worse experience we have ever had. Never a call from a manager or owner even stating they were sorry for the experience and can we help! Nothing, radio silence. If you are looking for a used vehicle GO ANYWHERE BUT ABERNETHY. If you want communication, honesty, and integrity Abernethy is not the place for you. Buys beware.

Avoid like the plague I took my car in to get it looked at, my car ended up sitting there untouched for 10 days, every time I called to check on it they would tell me it was getting started tomorrow, they acted like I inconvenienced them to check on my car. Not a good repair shop, I got my car back with a promised phone call that never came, unprofessional and liars

This dealership is not concerned about taking care of its customers. I've purchased several cars over the course of my life, and this dealership leads the award for the worst customer service possible. The ladies in service are EXTREMELY rude and hateful. They just want you off the phone; they do not care about you or customer loyalty. My car has been in their service department more than it has been on the road (I've only had the car for about 6 months). A manager will not show their face to talk to you, which as a manager myself, I can not wrap my head around. I'm done with this dealership. Head down the road to Hickory or Gastonia, they have MUCH better customer service and more competent service departments.

I tried twice to lease a new car with this dealership, they were so out of the ballpark it was rediculous. The service department leaves much to be desired in both servicing one's vehicle and customer service - my husband and I both had bad experiences with oil changes and the wait time is unbelievably long.

I would not buy a vehicle from this dealership during the coronavirus. They will not give you the trade in value of your vehicle even after advising them that you know the trade and value of your vehicle. Also I advise them that I was at another dealership that had two trucks that were the same as the truck they were selling. Except these two trucks had the multi-tail gate and the center console in the floorboard. Which their vehicle did not have and they were charging the same price. After advising them the fact that they had two less options and we're charging the same price. They would not come down on their price.

A dealership that cares most about the dealer and not the customer. Will not return.
