“Wonderful staff. They may be short staffed but they absolutely make up for it in the few friendly and kind people working in this hard time. I'm thankful that they continue to operate”
“I really enjoy shopping at Rose's. Their staff is great, usually. Especially Jennifer....not sure if she's on the management team or not. If not, she should be...js!! She is ALWAYS greeting us with a big smile & is always delighted to help!! She goes above & beyond! We had be looking at several stores for a black polo shirt for his job. We had no luck & time to be at work was drawing near!! I called and spoke with Jennifer and she looked to ensure that they had it before we drove there and there was only 1 in his size. She kept it at customer service for him to get there to make the purchase. This is just one of the examples of her EXCELLENT customer service skills!! Needless to say he made it to work, on time, with the much needed shirt!! Thanks again Jennifer for being so AWESOME!!”
“Store was nice & clean..nice young lady assisted me.she was short, dark headed wit hair in pony tail & glasses..she was very helpful & also nice about helping me..overall store atmosphere was great.”
“Well i shop at Dollar General almost everyday bc is kinda like a little mini Walmart kind of bc they sell a little bit of almost everything you may be looking for. Are you looking hair products? They got it just not a huge variety of brands like maybe say Walmart would. Looking pet food, toys, treats, medicines & more for your pets? They got that to. Looking something simple for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner whether you want frozen or not? They have that too. Looking for cleaning products for your home, car, office or classroom? They got it. Need school supplies either at the beginning of the school year or mid school year? They got all that you need. Want a product you've seen advertised on t.v? They have an As Seen On TV section. Kids been good all week and deserve a little prize for it? They have that covered too, whether you want to spend a $1 - $20 or more. Allergies messing with you and you need to be able to run in & out quickly? They got all over the counter medication you need for different medical needs. They have most of anything you need including cheap infant-toddler clothes, & children-adult sized clothes for all kinds of styles, seasons, yoga, the gym, relaxing, pj's all the way down to socks and underwear for the kids&adults for reasonable prices bc kids grow so fast don't they, and ruin so many clothes. You can even get a brand new prepaid cellular phone and data&minutes. They also have prepaid debit cards from lots of different banks, they even have down to the lil what not stuff that catches your eye, even stuff for loved ones pasted away if you want to decorate or leave lil things at the cemetery, you can even buy a movie for you and your spouse to watch when the kids go to bed, or if you need a movie for family night, or the kids favorite cartoon movie on dvd & blue ray. Dollar General has just about everything you can think of when you don't have time for Walmart & long lines for decent prices, or if you need a few things for around the house but don't want to make it an all day shopping trip. They are also convenient in just about all towns small and big. The customer service is also most of the time friendly and helpful, almost evertime i shop at a Dollar General and go thru check out the cashiers no matter which one i go too carry on conversation and joke around with not only me but with other customers. I don't like going into crowded stores or stores with long lines at the registers bc most Walmarts have 15 registers but only a couple are open that is so annoying to me. Yeah so I like the Dollar General stores, i would give 5 stars but i didn't bc I would like to see more varieties of the products they carry and more brands of a few different things. Over all though they are more convenient and faster than the bigger places you may shop at.”
“Dollar General pretty much sells anything u need. Sometimes I think they over stuff this small store. It's hard to keep it organized & hard to find what u need. Now that they carry fresh vegetables, it's just amazing!”
“It was an overall good experience, and it's easy to find what you need. Some of the prices seemed much, much more than a Walmart or the Dollar Tree for the same items. You pay for the convenience for many items, so it really serves a good service, just not perfect or exceptional.”
“I have never had a problem at this store. Most of the staff is friendly enough, some more so than others. They keep things in stock pretty well, though the aisles are sometimes very cluttered.”
“The people who work there are very friendly even though they have to deal with a lot of different people in a day. They are always very welcoming when i stop in and the manager and staff are all so kind and amazing people. I would recommend someone going there to do some quick shopping”
“I just want to say that the new manager at the Smithfield NC store has really got that store looking great... he had his work cut out for him because it was a mess!! Now it is a pleasure to shop there.. also thank you for having a electric cart for the disabled”
Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
