“Everyone there was so thoughtful and nice, honestly the best shop I visited in the outer banks. Everything in the store is so detailed and hand crafted by local artists making this store so unique. There’s a little something in there for everyone- would give 10 stars but only 5 is an option.”

“On my annual birthday vacation week, ALMIGHTY GOD, lets me come back year after year with my sister from another father to visit Carolyn and see and buy beautiful beach jewelry, home and yard decorations. I consider Carolyn, the owner, a sister in Christ and an extremely gifted business person. She travels to the Far East for unusual shells and artifacts and much more. Going and visiting In season and out of season gift shop and Carolyn are part of my vacation. GLORY TO GOD!”

“Great little shop but it's FULL of great gifts! Once you open the door and see how far back it goes you will be surprised! Bought drift wood and had a great conversation with the owner! We will be back! Drop in and support local business!”

“I purchased a drawing rendered on tapa cloth (barkcloth) in Vava’u Tonga from a Tongan who came into anchorage in his canoe. The driftwood I purchased from OBX Driftwood made a perfect frame. Reese went above and beyond to find the perfect pieces I needed.”

“Whoa! Everything for Christmas here. Super clean store, very well organized. Couldn't believe we spent two hours just walking around looking at everything. My daughter purchased an ornament. We'll definitely be going back to pick up some more items in the near future”

“I love shopping at the French Door! So much variety to choose from and such friendly hospitality extended to everyone who walks in to browse and shop! Super helpful staff and very relaxed vibe, always enjoy my visits!”

“I love this store. Most of the tourist traps are selling the same old t-shirts and mugs, but this place has a variety of top notch gifts and decor that brings the beach experience of OBX home in an aesthetic yet practical way. In other words, I hate knickknacks. This place offers gifts people would actually want. There’s everything from artwork, sculptures, lamps, to hand lotions, soap, candles, and kitchen and dinning accessories, and even some beach wear. This store is dangerous for me because I want to buy it all, hahaha. If we come back in our travels to the area, I will definitely drop in. I highly recommend it. The staff is fantastic too!! They took off all the price tags and bagged up what will be my mother’s birthday gift. Thank you for that!!”

“Absolutely love this store. It's chocked full of all things coastal and the staff is pleasant and helpful. We could have spent all day looking but it was close to closing time. We still managed to come home with a good amount of handmade coastal gifts. DON'T MISS THIS STORE!!”

“Went to this location for the first time. Friendly staff. Great selection of everything! Really enjoyed the holiday, and international food selection. I live 2 hours away but plan to return soon!”
