“Absolutely wonderful place for all your homeschool curriculum needs. Ladies are kind and courteous. Prices are reasonable. New and used items. If you haven’t been, you are missing out.”
“My favorite place to shop! There is always a unique and fabulous selection of items that changes weekly! I probably have multiple items in every room that have come from the store 😉”
“Best consignment store in Charlotte, hands down!
Pros: Awesome prices for high-end obscure NYC, LA and European brands, really nice selection, shoe selection is divine, the young girls that work there are nice, if a tad cliquey.
Cons: Getting a consignment appt should NOT be this hard. They often book up for the month and then don't open up their calendar until the 10th of the next month. Also, they only take them M - Th during bankers hours. Err! Not all of us are SAHMs.”
“This place is money, skip the overpriced box stores and buy used from here. Great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff. As long as you don’t need the latest and greatest (I know I don’t) you will be able to find what you need at a good price. Game changer for those of us with a bunch of outdoor hobbies that don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for gear that does the same thing as the stuff from 5 years ago”
“If you're looking for awesome clothes for an event or festival (or just wearing around) this is THE PLACE! They will even find something for you if you give them a picture of what you're looking for and they don't currently have it at the store!”
“LOVE shopping at Garrett's!! I always find awesome turquoise jewelry and really unique antiques. They always give me an education about who made the jewelry, what Native American people made it, where the stones are from, etc. And I'm always pleased with the price for the quality. Not to mention the wonderfully friendly owners who always chat with you. Go here! You'll love it.”
“I have purchased many things at both stores. Normally the staff conducts business elegantly. However, one of the associates doesn't understand business etiquette at this location. I meditated a long time to meditate about this comment. My mother, who has purchased many beautiful items at the store, was treated disingenuously by a person claiming to be the owner.Comparatively, cheerful young associates served me at the West Catawba location. However, one associate that works at the Torrence Chapel location during the weekend persistently displays unhealthy business etiquette. I recommend the associates that attend customers during the weekend, teach and inspire the weekend workers to deliver knowledgeable customer service with decency, decorum, and finesse. ♥️?”
“Really enjoyed walking around this antique store. Some really great pieces here. Some really expensive things and some very reasonable prices. If you're in the area, stop in and take a stroll.”
“Truth be told, the name almost kept me from walking in.As I entered, I felt like I was taking a trip back in time!I introduced myself to the young woman that was working. I was asking questions and doing my Google contributor thing and we discussed how vintage items are often purchased for movies or TV shows.Do not forget to look up! Even the ceiling has vintage stuff hanging, like your father’s old shed behind the house. So much fun!I am well know for my honest reviews, I gave it four out of five stars mainly because I price compared some of the vintage, and I think they could do a little better on some of their prices. Nonetheless…This might be the kind of place you could find that vintage treasure you are searching for.If you are headed for lunch or dinner in NODA. Stop by, The Rat’s Nest is worth a look !”
“Kevin has a great eye and is very good at timing up his sales to move inventory to make room for new (used) items. This is a hidden gem if you like value!!! I have been saving money on high quality used men’s clothes for a long time. Keep up the good work Kevin - I love Jilson’s!!!”
“I have been visiting this store for about two and a half years now and so has one of my other family members. Most times we usually find a few items to purchase. The store is packed with a lot of items to choose from. You can open an account and bring items in to put on consignment which my family member has done.”
“Both myself and my wife have been shopping here for years, go-to place for high-end fashion and accessories, warm and welcoming staff, always great service 😊”
“I visited Old News Vintage in NoDa after checking out Found, and while I didn’t end up purchasing anything, it was still an interesting experience. The store focuses mainly on streetwear, with plenty of hoodies, jerseys, jackets, and jeans. They also had some unique items like cowboy boots and genuine leather jackets.
However, I found that the pricing was a bit on the higher side for my taste, and I prefer all items on hangers rather than having some in large buckets. That said, if you’re into high-quality vintage pieces, you’ll likely appreciate what they have to offer. It just wasn’t quite my style or budget.”
“Every time I come in here, I am greeted friendly , everyone is so helpful and there are the most beautiful items. I love to come in and see all of the new items. If you haven’t discovered this gem, you are missing out !”
“Visited here yesterday for the first time. Let’s just put it this way: They are MUCH friendlier than Butterflies and Bullfrogs. I felt much more welcome and comfortable there. I’m looking forward to consigning with them!”
