259 N Main St, Mt AiryI tried Bark and Meow for grooming this week, and was hesitant, because I have an 2 year-old AussieDoodle….we regularly brush and condition her between grooms, but doodle fur type is notoriously difficult sometimes. It can also be difficult to find groomers that know the important spots to cut extra short (e.g., spots behind ears or base of tail, etc.) to prevent matting or..well..dingleberries.
I was so anxious when I dropped her off that I didn’t even take the time to clarify what was important to me. It didn’t matter. I came back and she was cut perfectly! Our groomer (I didn’t catch his name) was prompt and attentive to her. It took just two hours when it’s taken 4-6 hours at some other places because they are rotating multiple dogs.
I will 100% be back and highly recommend their services.
Also, for readers..don’t forget to tip your groomers!!!

225 Market Street, Mount AiryA great hang spot! They boast a fantastic selection of canned or bottled and tap beers (local and national!) reasonably-priced and served with a smile. Anything on tap can be taken home in a crowler, but why leave when you can stay? There is outdoor seating (even a hammock!), and tons of indoor seating in two separate spaces: the bar area and game space. Lots of TVs, arcade games, great couch seating! The bar area has enough tables for the shyest attendees but also social space. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and the owner is very involved in the local community and working hard to make Mt Airy a great destination. This bar is nestled on a pedestrian-only street within walking distance of a cocktail lounge, another local taphouse, and a game house (D&D or cards, anyone?). There is great food a block away. Give it a try!

My wife and I loved their dirty chais so much on our first visit, we went back the next morning for an Americano and a Mocha, both of which were excellent. Top-notch customer service, too--Jasmine was incredibly friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be returning and highly recommend it!

Round Peak Vineyards
765 Round Peak Church Road, Mount AiryWe really enjoyed round peak vineyards. We went for the flight with eight wines. Almost all of them were really good. Very friendly staff. We sat out on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains and the vineyards. There was live music. He was a country singer. Definitely recommend this place.
