“Dollar Generql on Hollifield in Gastonia: I visited today at 1230. Daniel, cashier very impressive: GENUINELY spoke to all customers as they entered, was readily available to assist. Was very attentive to needs- even the bagging of items. An excellent employee providing excellent customer care! What a rarity now days”
“They had a great selection but when did Dollar Tree become more than a dollar? 3 and 5$ items, that's crazy.This review is because of an employee. I am a retail store manager so I do alot of hiring for customer service. Kim is awesome. There was a line and she not only spoke and had a meaningful conversation with EVERY customer, it wasn't generic 'how are you today?' she was wonderful, good job hiring her :)”

“This is the closest dollar store to us. The staff is always so friendly and the items always seem to be stocked as soon as possible. The only thing I would note is that the parking lot and sometimes the store remain a tad on the dirty side...but, nothing to stop me from going there to get the essentials”
“I would rather go 15 minutes out of my way just to go to this Dollar general then go to the one on highway 16 in front of Bloom. The one on 16 the staff is very rude and disrespectful. That's why you always find me at Dollar general in Stanley because all the stuff there is absolutely amazing they're sweet they know you on a first name basis as well as I do theirs they treat you like family you know. So yeah I got 15 minutes out of my way to go to a store that treats me lucky human being”
“Dollar General has been upgraded they now have a huge selection of food and items. There is more fresh foods and refrigerated items. This Dollar General is well stocked and maintained. Staff were welcoming and I had no problem finding the items I needed. Very pleased with my experience here at this Dollar General.”

“Was looking for ice trays and couldn't find any. Asked one of the clerks and she took me to them and said there were more up front that were a little bit more expensive $1/$2. Couldn't find the ones up front so another clerk (who was off duty) took me to them. What a nice experience as a consumer. Good job Family Dollar team. ?”

“I went in and got what I needed. This local store has recently been remodeled, so it's nice and clean. The checkout has been arranged and is more distinguishable. The layout of the store is also better. Seems like there is more space and organized for the most part.”

“I really hope someone from corporate, a district manager or someone from higher up sees this review. I was at this location today 11/12/23 around just before 7pm. I was at the back of the store when I heard the manager yell at a customer saying “you’re not suppose to be in here, you need to leave”. I made my way to the front to check out and a man was trying to leave the store with a cart full of liquid detergent. The manager tried to block him from leaving and he snatched the cart away. An elderly veteran man stepped in and stopped him from taking the cart outside. The veteran and the thief were in a tussle outside but the vet was armed and ready to protect. Thank God for him. Please hire security for this location or shut this location down! The stealing is horrible. And it’s not safe!”
“There was a problem with the sale price & the it should have been a clipped coupon but was not showing. After checking the manager honored the lesser price. She was very kind & friendly!”
“Very clean and very nice employees. I have a big problem with the fact that they have stocking items on large carts in the isles which makes it impossible to get a buggy down the isle. The store is not very organized items are misplaced around the store. In my opinion it needs better management and more employees to get the store in order and the isles clear to get through. It is in a fantastic area and does another of business. They can do better to serve the customers and make their shopping easier to do and items easy to find.”

“I had the opportunity to visit this store as a vendor over the weekend and I was impressed with the cleanliness and overall staff in the store. The shift manager Matthen, introduced himself promptly and helped me to get set up. The store was prepared for my visit unlike other retailers. Soon after, I had the opportunity to meet another manager Shahia, and she was also nice. This particular store is the true essence of a "Family Dollar". The employees seem to have great rapport with the customers and knew them by names. On my return today- I met Steve, the actual store manager and I could see immediately why this store is successful - Great leadership. I watched him engage customers professionally as well as working alongside his team to complete tasks in the store. Most of the patrons seem to shop this store frequently! If you're in the area this is definitely your go to store!”
“The store is located in the correct demographic for the customer base that they serve. The store was clean It did not reek of any marijuana or any other illicit narcotics which is a very good change for this store where it's located. The staff that was in there was courteous friendly and professional. Woefully under trained and not having the ability to make adjustments. They made the biggest mistake in retail which is to have one price on the shelf and another price in the skew system so I guess what I would have to do is go back and deal with the manager at a later time and date to get this rectified but overall it was the standard experience based on the neighborhood and the individuals that come to this location in the people that they employ I was not looking for Tiffany service I was looking for competent service and I got competent service.”
