“I found this Pilot Travel Center by using Google Maps to scout out a good gas station to fill up at on our way from Chapel Hill to Greensboro (yeah, I actually did that). This Pilot is conveniently located just off I-40/I-85 exit 132 (Mount Hope Church Road) in McLeansville, North Carolina. Having grown up in nearby High Point in the 80s and 90s and regularly traveling back and forth between the Triangle and Atlanta since 2020, I hadn't heard of McLeansville until now.Over about the last couple of years, I've learned that Pilot Flying J (Pilot and Flying J merged in 2009) are the best stops for gas and restroom breaks on the merged stretch of I-40 and I-85 in North Carolina, between the Triad and the Triangle. If anyone knows better, please educate me.On this stretch, there are Pilots at exits 132 (this one in McLeansville), 150 (Haw River), and 152 (Mebane). There's also a Flying J across the street from the Pilot at exit 150. I think the only comparable gas station/truck stop on the same stretch is the TA Travel Center at exit 138 (Whitsett). I'll probably have left Yelp reviews for each of these places before our time in the Triangle is up.I-40 overlaps with I-85 between I-40 exits 227 and 259. In between those exits, the I-85 exit numbers, 131 to 163, prevail. This Pilot is situated close to the west end of the overlap, near Greensboro.Relatively speaking, this Pilot in McLeansville is spacious, clean, and well-stocked. It's no QuikTrip, RaceTrac, or Love's, but it's one of the closest things you'll find to those brands around here. My four-star rating is relative to the area. I counted 14 pumps at the filling station. There are Dunkin' and Wendy's fast food restaurants on-site.This is Pilot Travel Center store #7937. It's open 24/7.”
“This review is focusing on 3 different food areas in the store. 1) Sandwiches - Best price in town for a great sandwich. They do not charge you for extra toppings. Cheese bread option and even hot or cold option. You can order ahead and pick up. Love it! (I really appreciate their sandwich staff) 2) Pizza bar - I finally after 4 years took home a Take n Bake pizza, supreme. OMGoodness this pizza was loaded! It was heavy with toppings and very filling. It took us 3 days to finish. Monday is their special pricing for Pizzas, great deal! 3) Sushi Bar - I love me some sushi rolls. Best day is Wednesday for deals on Sushi rolls. They are the perfect size for lunch or even breakfast. Harris Teeter is a great option for the family where you all can get something different in 1 spot. ENJOY!”
“Incredibly clean store. Friendly employees. I visited at 8:15pm and the produce department was as well stocked, fresh and organized as any I've ever seen. (3 years as a Market Lead for Food Lion). Paul has the area looking great and checking out was nice with such a cheerful cashier. Chanya was helpful, efficient and friendly. Love that green hair! Keep up the good work”
“I have been shopping here for years. Staff are very friendly, professional and greet you with a smile. Assistance is offered at the self-checkout, and with taking groceries to your car. Questions are answered, and if you can't locate a product, they will assist you. Staff routinely collect shopping carts from parking lot, and return them to the store. Great shopping atmosphere. Love the sales!”
“this place doesn't just do great work and have great prices, they work extremely fast and are also all around good guys. Once I was pulling my car into their shop to get some work done and while I was pulling it in, my power steering belt shredded off. They let me use one of their personal vehicles to run to an auto parts store for a new belt . I came back and installed the new belt within 5-10 min and they were completely done with the car. I have taken many of my own personal cars to them and also have referred everyone I know to go there.”

“I mainly shop at HT for my wine. I prefer Steelbird by Smoking Loon because it's un-oaked so it tastes clean, not smokey or woody. It's pretty hard to find but HT always has it. Now, before you think I'm snooty and a wine snob, I assure you, I'm not. This wine has a screw top and is usually on sale for only $7.99. I would've bought 12 bottles to get the additional full case discount of 20% but they only had 5 bottles on the shelf. That party foul that would've cost them a star but it was on sale for $6.99 with a VIC card and it's my own fault for trying to buy it the day before Thanksgiving.”

“It looks to me like the machines are well kept and operable, only 4 washers not working. They have 41 washers and 28 big driers. The place is clean, just a little dates, but no big deal. You can definitely get things clean here. They have a quarter machine, and if you forget your detergent and fabric sheets, you can buy what ya need.”
