“Great for holiday decorations and kids toys. Not a ton of clothes, or furniture. Prices are still pretty low compared to other thrift stores. They also do color days with discounts which is a great way to get things for quite cheap.”

“Very neat, consistent organization happening while shopping.

A few items weren’t tagged but we were able to get those priced immediately.

Fitting rooms were plentiful and clean.

Staff was really pleasant.”

“Such a cool spot to check out! Has a fantastic selection of vintage clothes, thrift, accessories, posters, and more from local small business vendors in the area”

“I’ve been donating to and shopping at this store since it opened. They have good stuff. Including cute jewelry. I like too because it is local and not a chain. The proceeds go to a good cause—autism. I highly recommend!”

“The best thing about this little gem of a shop is their staff! So friendly and helpful. You never know what you might find, so come often! Great prices and an even better cause. We are happy to support them!”

“This is one of the best they thrift stores for household items I've ever been in. They have tons of really good quality items in great shape for really good prices.”

“Small thrift shop but well put together. Looks like the workers were organizing the clothes. The only suggestion I would make is to organize clothes by size and type ( shorts, pants, dresses, etc...). I would definitely come back bc the workers were very friendly.”

“This is a nice store. They are always organized and always polite. All items may not be as cheap as you want because they are sending the money they make to help abuse survivors, and I'd definitely pay more for that cause. In addition, most of the items have been researched before pricing and are reasonable, and they almost always have some sort of sale going on (it's posted on the door). Sometimes they have free items outside, and I took a futon home with the help of one of the workers who let me borrow moving straps AND secured it to the car for me. This is a great place and I will follow them when the store relocates very soon.”

“Love this store! They have a great selection of furniture, tiles, pictures, and lamps. I'm only leaving 4 stars because some of their prices are a little high. Not terrible, but could be better. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!”

“Excellent Thrift Shop, my favorite one in Raleigh. The staff is always friendly and remembers you after you have been there a few time and look forward to seeing you. My type of place. Excellent prices. I take my kids there on a Saturday with $5, and they come out with 8-12 toys!”

“Can't believe I've been here over 15 years and am JUST NOW FINDING THIS! Awesome thrift store! Prices could definitely be lower, but it helps if you purchase something on sale.”

“Nice small thrift shop with options for designer like Coach and things from $1 to $55. My cousin is smaller and she found some awesome clothes and a handbag. Parking is free and in the back is a historical cemetery. They had sunglasses for $3-$20, cool earrings including ones with clips having red dot ? so easy to spot. Enjoyed peeking through everything.”

“I’ve lived here in Brier Creek for 9 years, and the Reacue Mission thrift store is always my go to before I go the new retail routes. I bought 2 coats, left there and went straight to the cleaners, changed the buttons design and received numerous compliments on them. I use to donate to the Goodwill but decided to only donate the the mission store because they give back, and their prices are not outrageous. Whenever I have pickups, the gentlemen are always pleasant and most respectable. I send all my friends there.”

“Found my new favorite thrift store.

They have a good used book selection. It is, unfortunately, not well sorted, but that makes the hunt a bit more exciting. Large selection of clothes, furniture, and bicycles.

I had pleasant interactions with two different employees while I was there, so I don't agree with some of the other reviews here about the standoffish staff.

You can also adopt cats, or just say hello and try to resist the urge to take them all home...”

“1 time coming to this location. They have a huge selection of everything household. I feel some things are a little overpriced. I saw a lot of unique furniture pieces that definitely caught my eye. The staff were very friendly and they seemed happy to be there. I’m looking forward to going back.”

“Retails is a cute little shop with a cozy vibe, but overall, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. While the space is clean and well-organized, the selection feels limite, there’s not a whole lot to browse through beyond the basics. They do offer a decent variety of clothes and books, which is a plus, but if you're looking for something more unique or varied, you might come up short.

Some of the furniture pieces caught my eye, but the pricing seemed a bit steep for what was being offered. It’s the kind of place that might surprise you one day and leave you empty-handed the next, a definite hit-or-miss experience.

Worth a quick stop if you're nearby, but maybe not a destination on its own.”

“Wow today was such an amazing surprise. They have the right amount of vintage and gently used items today. I hardly ever come in and not at this time of day. So I really encourage y'all to drop in, especially if you love vintage items.”

“It is wonderful; clean, has reasonable prices and a kind and helpful staff. One time I purchased something and after I got home, I discovered it had a flaw. I went back to the store and showed them. They were so kind and more than fair to me. They kept apologizing that this had slipped through their inspections. I told them everyone is human and that I did not notice the flaw either before I took it home. A couple of times when I was looking for a specific item, I called them to ask if they had it. The volunteer was so helpful. She looked all around the store, found an item and saved it so I could come look at it. It is very evident that they care about their customers. I cannot say enough good about Missions Thrift Store. They are a treasured resource for me and I will always shop there.”

“They have some great stuff if you have time to look, and the prices are the lowest I've seen in this area. The staff is very friendly. Plus they have adoptable cats which is so sweet! However, sometimes the cat smell can be overwhelming.”

“Helping Hand Mission are such kind and wonderful folks and have a great mission. I try to find local organizations that are directly helping the community for all my donations, rather than the big chains and such, and Helping Hand is one of the only places around Raleigh that takes homewares in good condition like plates and bowls and kitchen appliances. They are always kind and the location is very convenient for dropping things off. I'm shocked at the reviews by people who are so distraught over not being able to treat them like a free trash disposal service. They cannot operate for free and they cannot store an infinite amount of furniture. If they decide they can’t take your furniture, obviously they're not going to haul large items to the dump for you for free, that is an absurd expectation. If you're sure that the furniture is in great shape and shouldn't go to waste at the dump, try calling a second or third place, like Green Chair or Habitat ReStore, or post it on Facebook Marketplace for free if someone picks up. There are options! But don’t berate these kind people who are just trying their best to help folks in our community.”

“This is an alright thrift store but the selection is pretty limited and things can be pricy. Unfortunately they don't have much in terms of clothing, but they did have a good selection of jewelry which was also fairly priced. They were also really friendly here!”

“Stopped by today- have always walked out with a treasure or two, but WOW did the prices go up!! Not sure they should call themselves a thrift shop anymore. Left disappointed and not worth the 30 minute drive anymore.”

“Great organization of clothes as shown. There are changing rooms with wheelchair accessibility. Staff are friendly and there is a wide variety of options to choose from in all departments.”

“You never know what you will find at any GCF. I had been looking for bedside lamps on Amazon for weeks. The local GCF had 2 lamps that caught my eye were such a great price. They are adjustable height lamps that work perfectly and had shades included. My plan is to bedazzle and bling lamps but current conditions are so nice I just cleaned lamps and put new bulbs in to start using them. I cant believe I only paid $7.99 each. Very sturdy, classic lamps were a true steal when you consider even at Ross ,Marshall's or other discount stores these lamps would easily sell for over $50 each. Now im pulling them into my Alexa system and LET THERE BE LIGHT”

“LEE & the other sweet lady working today deserve a raise! It’s so nice to go into a goodwill and be welcomed, helped and treated so kindly. I go to a lot of thrift stores but this one has the best staff. Five stars for the staff. Prices are marked up a little more here but again I appreciate the friendliness.”

“$3.00 investment for a few hours of reading is a wonderful thing.

There is a lot of stuff in this location... you should find something you like.”

“In case you want to drop off whatever you want to donate, this place is a must go. As there are clearly market parking places right adjacent to the door for someone who wanted to donate.

We can quickly park, donate and get back in the car very quickly.”

2.9 Average75 Reviews

“Great location and easy to donate even on a Saturday morning - the only issue I have had over the past two years is no help with unloading and very little respect for fragile items as it seems more important to fill the bin than protecting the individual donations - this is where incentives between giver and receiver are not aligned.”

“I regularly donate here. The folks overall are nice.
They are doing good helping people and families.
Many are having a real hard time these days.
2024 is almost over this nightmare of Joey bribes coming to a close.”
