“Very friendly workers and most of the time they have everything I'm looking for. I livecright in town so it's so convenient to go there when I need something”
“I went two days in a row and both times the customer service was exceptional. I was asked if I needed any help more than once. I don't go to this location often, but I'm impressed with the customer service whenever I go.”
“The Meat Dept has a satisfactory score, Most likely the best on that side of town when it comes to shopping for your meats. Other items seem a bit pricey but the meats are definitely a plus.”
“The perfect place to stop before getting on the highway! Cold drinks and the best ?hotdogs ? in all of Pitt County! A for sure must try experience you will not regret!”
“The team here is always very kind. The store is almost always easy to navigate. Only time that's an issue is when they are resetting aisles or when they get a large truck.”
“It actually has more than I thought and can save you a trip to the grocery store..and really put one off for awhile if you get busy. Nice locals too..so I like this little place. Prices are great to and big meat selections”
“Great price on meat and family boxes with different kinds of meats a case of oxtail 99 dollars just like the old save alot more like the Mexican running the place Mexican fresh asada sausage everything you can name while pig half pig”
“This is probably the best store you can go to they have the best food in wilson , and the customer service is on another level, they are respectful and helpful people”
“Frankly I am biased toward places like R.A. Fountain General Store - I like books, music, history, old things and old-fashioned ways. Being of the warm and kindly people who live around here, Alex and Elizabeth run a warm friendly venue of music and literature with snacks and treats in an environment that simultaneously evokes memories (personal and shared) of old libraries, meeting halls, and old-fashioned stores with ice cream, bakery goods - and a healthy portion of antiques…. In short: a little trip back in time.
But what really makes this place a delight is the friendly atmosphere fostered by the kindly, welcoming nature of Alex and Elizabeth, and their eclectic mix of friends and customers. Bring in Alex’s knowledge of writing, books and local history along with his welcoming yet frank conversation, it makes it hard to leave. So you stay a bit, have some snacks and a coffee, browse the books and pick one out (maybe two or three), learn something about them on a relevant topic of literature or history and head home feeling a little happier and a little smarter from time well spent.
If you notice a musician or a band being promoted for an upcoming performance there I suggest you go, you’ll have a great time. But if you want a good seat up front - make sure you get your ticket in advance!”
