Pelican Bookstore is a small bookstore in a shopping plaza near the Ingram Planetarium. It carries best selling hard backs, trade and mass market paperbacks, used books, children’s books, local authors, jigsaw puzzles and greeting cards. The store also has maps. The employees have read the books, not just the reviews, and they remember customers. Customers can trade in old books for credit. The store is clean and well organized. It has a decent variety of new and used books, and the selection of used books is limited but quality is very good. It offers books from local authors. The store is the only bookstore in Brunswick County, and many people visit it when they are in the area. The staff are very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, especially for people who are not familiar with books. The shop is cute, with cards and gifts. The atmosphere is beautiful, and it feels like a small intimate bookstore of yesteryear.

Stopped in here this morning to pick up the new Hunger Games book - this store is amazing! The owner is lovely and everything is so clean and well organized!
