“I booked this room as a romantic weekend getaway. It went beyond my expectations. Way beyond.Fran, the hostess, was the embodiment of friendliness and personal service. She got me into the room quickly and without a lot of fuss. The room was by far the best I've ever stayed in. Think of the coziness of a tiny home. It was amazing. I had a wonderful view of the battleship from our window. We had our dinner on the patio, which also has a river and battleship view.It was quiet. Even downtown with all the people coming and going in the streets along with an airport not too far away, the room was surprisingly quiet. You are downtown, so you are within walking distance of so much to do. Shopping, food, and entertainment are all just a short walk away.I truly did love this place and will return. I can't think of a better place to stay downtown than at Stemmermans. I have and will continue to tell my friends about this place.Walkability: In the heart of downtown.”

“This is my first time experiencing and staying at this establishment. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was nice and friendly. My room was clean and welcoming. What impressed me more was the personalized name and message on the television upon entering. I was touched by that. The breakfast food that was served was delicious! I know for some, the breakfast variety was a lackluster, but for me, it was perfect! Oh, and the coffee was potent and smooth, just the way I like my coffee!Kudos to the staff at Hampton Inn Medical Park in Wilmington. You have won me over. I will be back!”

“Having stayed purely for the aesthetic (no shame), I loved it! If you love curated spaces/interesting decor, are looking for walkability around downtown Wilmington, it's a great choice. I chose our room specifically for the bathtub, and thoroughly enjoyed a long soak followed by sharing a bottle of wine on the wrap around front porch. The room-matching essential oil diffuser blends were a unique touch, and it was nice to start the day with coffee & avegan breakfast toasts/smoothies (bring your own cream if almond or coconut milk doesn't cut it for you!). I'd happily stay again! There is a vibe of being a houseguest without a host, as while the common spaces are beautiful, they felt a bit like a library, as we and the other guests we ran into seemed to tip toe around speaking in hushed voices, and not lingering. I'm completely fine with this, but I think it's worth knowing that it's a quiet, museum like home, not a concierge serviced hotel.”

“The Family House is a huge blessing during hospital stays and treatments. It's clean, comfortable and bright. The staff is very kind . Being able to prep meals in the kitchen, store food in the pantry and do laundry is a wonderful financial help.”

“Clean. 2 queen beds. Fridge. Friendly service at check in and anytime we walked through the lobby. I called front desk to get more bathroom supplies and coffee, they were friendly and brought items to our room quickly. As a family of 4, it was a little tricky to use the bathroom sink or closet area while someone else was in the shower because the shower was all glass. You couldn’t get to the toilet while someone was in the shower without walking past them in the all glass shower. This may not be the case in the layout in every room. There were curtains to mostly close off the bathroom from the bedroom area. It truly is a loft design. The location was great for us in town for a wedding close by. You can walk out to the river for a nice view. The rooftop is a great view too. $20 a day for self parking. The lot was full when we returned in the evening so we had to use the parking garage around the corner. The hotel validates the ticket. We had a good experience here and it met our travel needs.”

“Charming, well maintained building, very clean, friendly staff and above and beyond service. I left my favorite jacket behind and they very kindly and quickly located it and were able to ship it back to me across the country. Above and beyond, very appreciated. I spoke to 2 different employees, didn't get names but I spoke to a man 09/21 around 9pm and a woman 09/22 around 11am. Thanks both of you :)”

“Very Nice Hotel location with lots of things in walking distance and a solid view of either the water or city depending on your room. Staff is friendly especially the food service crew. Try to associate with this hotel in person rather than on the phone though ?.”

“On Saturday Oct 28th 2023, I reserved the Conference/Meeting Room. The price was reasonable and the space was perfect for what I need it for. The Kitchen attendant, Ms. Latrica, was simply AMAZING!!! She took the time to provide us with refreshments in the Conference/Meeting Room. Ms. Latrica was truly a Blessing.”

“Staff was great, but the room keys would quit working. They would never work on most of the outside doors. We kept having to get new keys for the room because they would quit working.Going to the room, trying to get in, going down stairs to get a new key several times a day was very frustrating.”

“Visiting on Labor Day weekend and needed something last minute. Travel Inn was the onlyplace that could take me. Close to many stores, 20 min from Wrightsville Beach. I stayed 2 nights and my room was clean, decent price, friendly housekeeping service. Would stay again if I needed to. Only thing is the traffic/outside noise but the air conditioner helped to drown the outside noise out. ? Also; I wish they had of had breakfast other than that 10/10 would recommend.”

“A little humid indoors at first (hey, North Carolina), but really clean and everything one needs for a night's stay. "Beach feel" decor, but not overdone. Pleasant environment. Instructions from owner were clear and there wasn't an overwhelming checkout list. It was a studio space but still had plenty of room and the couch folds out to a bed so there's sleeping for 4. There's a desk, wifi, television, and kitchen with mini but working fridge & stove. Also has microwave. This is perfect for someone who is working remotely but wants to be near restaurants, beach, & shopping. Also has mood lighting if you're looking for a romantic get-away. ? Didn't grab any photos but the ones on air bnb are accurate.”

“You get what you pay for. Staff is extremely friendly. Rooms are very spacious. There are some minuses to it though. It is made for short people. Maybe 5ft tall. AC is not the best for someone who has hot flashes or just got in general. Be is very hard. If you like firm beds you will definitely get it. Towels are rough. Little bit of a smell but goes away after you've had AC on for a bit. Husband was very disappointed that there was no vending machines. It is clean, lots of room, and great water pressure.”

“Multiple stays at this location and love the service from front desk employees, always extremely nice and helpful. But on the other hand your Valet service felt like I was handing my car over to thug. Sweat hoodie pulled over head and face and no personality at all. Treated me as if I was bothering him?? Next time I'll probably park myself and save the $26.”

“Ms.Tracy leads and awesome team that exceeds my expectations of an ordinary “extended stay”! They all have jobs to do, and each is done to the top standards! So if you’re looking for a place to trash or just hangout with the “crew”, it’s not your place! Very clean and pleasant!Safety: No vagrants, feel very safe outside!Walkability: In very close walking distance to everything that you need!”

“I received a call from Wilmington that our brother was very sick. I left immediately arriving in the late afternoon. I had no idea where to stay and limited funds. The Baymont had a room available at an affordable rate and was located near my brother's home. At first, I was hesitant about getting a room there as I arrived after dark and there were quite a few men in the area, and I was alone. I soon learned that these were men working with construction crews. They were no problem, early to bed and early to rise without any late noise. In fact, I felt safer knowing my room was sandwiched between two groups of these men. This became a theme while we were in the Wilmington area. Wilmington is booming. Working class men are everywhere during the week. O.K. The Baymont is not the Ritz. My room was functional. The bed was very comfortable. They have done remodeling on a budget, in my opinion. Someone had to come and show me how to use the television. But everything worked and my needs were met. It is unrealistic to book a room at the Baymont expecting more than a basic setting. But that bed was incredibly comfortable and that counted for something. My brother had to stay with me the next night and we had to share the bed. He was desperately ill and, as a result, not easy to manage. I explained to the staff that he was with me and cautioned them not to be alarmed when they saw us leaving in the morning and here is the reason, I will never forget the Baymont and will always hold them close to my heart. I loaded the car to leave and went back into my room to get my brother. I knew it was not going to be easy, but the job had to be done. As I was leaving the room and was struggling to help my brother two women who were cleaning rooms came to my aid. Catherine and Lala! They took control and my brother let them. They were gentle with him and had him in his seat all the while encouraging him and keeping him safe. CATHERINE AND LALA! You are the best and you were angels to me that day! Many of you reading this review will understand the power of kindness when it is offered to us by strangers. I was worn out and my brother was very sick. The simple act of helping us made up for any of the lack of glamour at the Baymont. So, don't expect the Baymont to provide much beyond a hot and a cot, so to speak, but do expect to encounter caring employees who respond to your needs. If you are grouchy and difficult to please do yourself and the staff of the Baymont a favor and pass on by. Wave at Catherine and Lala for me! Happy travels!”
