Goodwill Stores offer a wide range of donated items, including clothing, shoes, accessories, furniture, toys, home decor, electronics, books, and household goods, all at bargain prices. With new donations arriving hourly, each visit to the Goodwill Store and Donation Center is a unique experience, filled with one-of-a-kind treasures. The sale of these donated items helps fund employment and training programs that support thousands of people in finding jobs and achieving financial stability. Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, has been serving the local community since 1926 and is nationally recognized as one of the most efficient charities, ensuring that donations go further. The University Parkway Goodwill Store is praised for its layout, with bins lined up around the store, providing a unique shopping experience. While some customers have found the staff to be pleasant, particularly the older gentleman who sweeps the floors, others have reported issues with rude behavior, such as staff members rushing customers near closing time or being overly assertive about how items are priced. The cleanliness of the store has also been a point of contention, with some describing it as "filthier than a dumpster." However, this location is still considered one of the better Goodwill stores in the Triad area, where customers have had success finding valuable items, including sports memorabilia, furniture, and electronics.
I dropped off a few things yesterday morning. They have put chains across the drive thru. I've seen the homeless digging in the donations. But goodwill think about this. Even if they take a few things, goodwill is still missing out on donations. Also a lot of people aren't going to drop off donations if the store is open.
