I used to LOVE Mckay's, and while I still do I can hardly justify visiting like I used to. It has grown from a small store with great deals to a bright, bustling, mega shop. Don't get me wrong, I'd still rather buy used and I do still enjoy the occasionally perusal, but why are you selling a used book with a damaged spine for $12 when it retails new at $10? Or a plethora of other examples. I do love the unique finds, and appreciate the broad selection, but the overwhelming setup paired with the often outrageous prices has decreased my obsession quite a bit...

Went here looking for Switch games and brought a box of Blu-rays & dvds I had no use for. About an hour later was offered $7 or $33 credit for about 30 of them. I was suprised i didn't get a print out showing the items they took and the prices, I was curious. Bought a Switch game and board game that was missing most the pieces and had a bunch that went to another version. Overall, most items seemed priced for people using store credit. Update: Switch game didn't work w/handheld so I brought both back for full credit and bought 2 new games that were perfect. The cashier was super nice!

Books. Puzzles. Games. Merchandise. Plus, there's a lot more. Bins with free books. I was there to get puzzles and came home with 6. The prices are fantastic. After all, it is a used book store. I scored books for my grandchildren and books for me. The store is well organized and clean. Aisles are labeled. You are able to easily find the section you are looking for. I do not know the policy for book donations.Come check it out.

A staple location in our family traditions. Mkay's is a giant used bookstore. With an amazing amount of bonus content. Records, pokemon and other trading cards (LOTS), antique toys and collectibles, board games, media, retro gaming systems and games, modern gaming systems and games, comic books- and more. Most everything is donated/ used. Most is reasonably priced- though the video game stuff is a little on the higher end of used market prices. This is a store to get lost in, to wander, to browse. While organized, they don't keep a system of "yes we have this book, it's here" but if you're dedicated, you can find gems, and once you learn the system you can usually find something your looking for within a few visits. They are constantly getting in new items so you can come back the next week and see completely different things. Be sure to check out the bargain fiction section, and look all over for hidden gems. I found .95c books last week from a very popular series that I adore! Looks like they had too many copies and decided to discount it. When you exit the store be sure to check out the free bins- sometimes you can find something in there worth grabbing. The bathrooms are usually clean, the checkout process is simple. It's a busy store. It can be overstimulating. But it's always consistent and it's always fun to visit. We have been to most of the MKay's locations, and this one is pretty good. The prices seem to have climbed a bit over the years, understandably. But you can still find a good deal if you learn how to look. This store is a must visit for any fan of books and games and retro vibes. I hope it is around for years to come!

Board games were definitely overpriced. I saw so many Catan games that were pretty much brand new prices even though they were in rougher shape. I mostly shopped the fantasy section, and was pretty disappointed in the organization of it. Sometimes it’s organized by title of book, sometimes there are sections just for well-know authors, but then there are nothing in those slots. It’s already cramped between the shelves, and the litany of people making circles to find things made it frustrating to browse. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and felt overwhelmed. Only positive is the laugh I got out of seeing this doll and the one employee I spoke to was nice. I did accidentally wind up with a first edition signed book, by pure chance and luck.

Huge building, absolutely packed with things. It would take you hours to go through everything in here. Some prices are a little high. Some are a good deal. But it's like a nerd thrift store and I'm so glad we found it. Definitely will be back and bringing people with me.

This place is pretty nostalgic with vintage video games and consoles, vinyls, CDs, board games, toys from back in the day. It's a pretty cool place.

While I have not been to the actual location in awhile, we love this store. Finding all kinds of used books, is a great thing to do. We love reading, even though, we have different taste in genres. She likes the horror, suspense type books. I like the sci fi, fantasy type. We will be visiting this location very soon.

Service was very poor when asking for assistance and resolution. Will not be returning to this location again.

This is a pretty cool store. They had every board game known to man, comic books, and electronics as far as the eye could see. Also a wonderful selection of music instruments. It's like goodwill but way better because there's actually stuff you want to buy.

First time to this store. Loved it!! The place is huge and they have so much to look at. Books, movies, music, video games, comics, figures, etc.! Spent hours trying to look at everything. We finished with quite the haul. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

This place is great for browsing, but it's also great for selling and/or trading in books, music, games, puzzles, video games, stereo and computer equipment, and toys. I took in a handful of books and some unwanted action figures, and was surprised how generous the offer was! They offer cash, or a much higher amount if you're willing to take trade-in credit instead. (Smart of them, because you browse while you wait for your offer, and if you're like me you'll find lots to buy during that time!)

These stores are my favorite. If you're an avid reader and/ or book lover, they're most likely your treasured place as well. However, these two stores offer more than books galore - they also stock used media, games, viny,l and MUCH, MUCH more.. Just as wonderful and practically organized as the store located in Greensboro, but this one is even larger! AND you can bring in your used books, etc. toward store credit in this location also. Make sure you have plenty of time to spend browsing the vast inventory and plan on many, many fulfilling return trips.

The only place you can really get playstation 3 video games. They are pretty high on most there prices on most items I feel. They do buy items from you. They give you a pretty high amount if you want to take the store credit. When it comes to cash back for items I feel as if it's really low compared to what they offer you for store credit. I don't agree with this. I would probably understand if the cash % was like $20.00 cheaper than store credit. We are selling y'all items due to probably most of the time being low on funds, so we are needing the funds more. I feel as if it's not fair to us.

They do have a little bit of everything. You can find some good prices on books, vinyl, CDs and DVDs. That said... it's not the old McKays. You get less store credit for selling than you did in the past. Also, check the prices on Amazon or a manufacturer website BEFORE you purchase. I was looking for game controllers a few weeks ago, and could get two new ones from Amazon for less than they were selling one for. And I'll leave this pic here.... $30 less on Lego's website.
