HI LAGOOGLERS!!! State employee's credit union is an amazing bank. Yes they are still a bank and banks make money but the Definitely help their members. They have some top tier life elevating services and I DO NOT recommend messing things up with this financial institution. This particularly SECU was really clean and inviting. The atmosphere was a total vibe!! Thee best kind especially around the holidays. Its always a plus too walk into a bank that has a good vibe especially when they are housing your funds. Also i be annoyed as all hell walking through those doors on bill pay days ?? but anywayzzzz the employees here are so amazing even when they are short staffed they provide great A customer service. ? meka and cj are always welcoming with warm helpful smiles. ? that trained with willy wonka nem at the chocolate factory too with the chic fil a workers. ?the establishment was also well decorated for the holidays. Everything was well put together and just so festive!!

Member service has markedly declined. Never enough drive thru lanes open, and when two or more are "open", there's one or two overworked people running around working 3-4 people's stations. I never see such inefficiency at any of the other Winston-Salem branches. Service is still polite, however.

They move slower than molasses going up hill. Take the people in line in the order they please and it's just getting to be dumb. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to deposit some money. Truist literally never takes 1/10th of the time they do.

Don’t bother calling at 5 because you’ll just be on hold for 30 minutes until they go home. Wanted to speak to literally any loan officer. Also how are people “not in the office” so often? You’re only open 40 hours a week are you all part time?

Very unfriendly and hostile towards customers who don't want to wear a mask...still! I came in to inquire about a home loan and they tried to make me go sit in my car. This is dehumanizing and anti-scientific. Bad business practice and terrible customer service lady who sits up front and scowls.

A waste of time if you need something notarized go to a real bank, the woman who called herself a notary didn't fill out the form correctly so I had to obtain another form and go to a different location where the woman on the phone lied and said they could notarize it and once I arrive the idiot was like oh our trust department said I couldn't. Like don't waste my time either you know what your doing or you don't, either you can notarize the form or not, But Don't Waste My Time! With your incompetence! I went to a REAL bank where I was able to have my paperwork reviewed and notarized. Now I'm opening a second account because I'm always impressed when people know what the hell they're versus those who just pretend to.

Called in to ask a few question and the women on the phone was amazing, she gave me accurate information quickly without putting me on hold or transferring me. She was also very kind great customer service.

I’ve been with the credit union for about 20 years. They have approved not only my car loans but my kids as well. Thank you for allowing them to start establishing responsibility & credit worthiness.

Have been banking with SECU for more than a decade and I’d say that’s long enough. If I could give them no stars I would. Customer service is a joke, employees are so ill-trained they contradict themselves again and again. Call customer service number on back of card at 5 am? They tell you one thing. Go to a branch? They tell you another. Call the head office in Raleigh? You’re told another thing altogether! Told me I couldn’t open another savings account because my accounts were not up to date, nevermind that literally 30 minutes prior to that request I had made payments bringing my accounts current and had transaction history to prove it, however some troglodyte teller refused to help or be corrected, when I wanted to speak to supervisor the call “accidentally” dropped???!! They think your hard-earned money is their own! Despite a well-paying job and a current car loan with them that is paid without fail monthly, they refused to help with a trade-in. SECU offers no credit assistance, but they are quick to send you nasty letters in the mail regarding this and that, all hollow threats because I can move my money from them in a heartbeat and that’s exactly what I’ve done! SECU is NOT on the forefront of technology, their mobile app leaves A LOT to be desired, as it is buggy and fails to show you a full transaction history. The timeframe for availability of funds also SUCKS! I deposit money to my online bank, I have access instantly, no lie! SECU it takes DAYS!! Also takes DAYS for bills to clear your account even when paying with a debit card! Money randomly shows back up in your account at odd times...basically don’t trust this credit union with your money. Truliant is better if you must go to a credit union. I’m just sorry I’ve wasted 10 years banking with SECU.
