About Fargo Public Library – Main Library

The Fargo Public Library – Main Library is an amazing and wonderful community resource. It is a great first library experience with a huge selection for all ages, including great books of all types, a large large print section, magazines, DVDs, blurays, audio books, and even games for different platforms. The children's section is huge and located on the lower level with no stairs, featuring a "wiggle room" with toys. There is a quiet place to read or study on both the lower and upper levels, with plenty of seating. The library is handicap accessible from the parking lot and has an elevator. The staff is friendly, nice, helpful, approachable, and well-versed, with library staff available on both levels. A security guard is present. The decor is wonderful. Helpful features include plenty of computers, computer and printing services, and convenient self-checkout. The online catalog system is easy to use for placing holds and renewals, and digital resources like e-books are available. The library hosts events and programs like author talks, book clubs, and children's activities. There is also a small book store on site. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The only noted area for improvement is that the young adult section is rather small. It is a cool, valuable asset and a go-to resource for the community.
