Meaning they don't even put a hold on the money for 24-48 hours THEN they charge shipping SEPARATELY 2-3 days later when they finally ship the order. Oh and good luck getting the order refunded after they've overdrafted your account by charging at weird times, they'll 100% blame the banks and you'll be lucky you get anything back at all. Still waiting on what I thought would be a FULL refund but customer service says is only ten bucks (not my whole purchase) and swears they've already issued despite it not being in my bank. 100% sure they're crooks and I'll be telling everyone I know not to trust them. Please excuse the unnecessary info as I ATTEMPTED MANY TIMES to edit the review only the review box refused to allow me to put the cursor anywhere EXCEPT at the end so no editing is possible.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I received an email saying 'thank you for your order' confirmation for almost $65. worth of items. I had not ordered anything. The order was placed by someone in Georgia, and was to be sent to someone with my name in Texas. I live in New Hampshire. The customer's name and address were clearly stated on the order and it was not me. Someone there was too stupid or lazy to make sure the order went to the correct account, and just picked the first person in their files with my name (evidently). This was the beginning of a nightmare. I immediately called them trying to correct the situation promptly. I got nowhere on the phone, with the foreign person telling me they would 'talk to the supervisor' and get back to me. They never did. Instead they sent another email saying "MY" order had been cancelled! (It wasn't my order, you idiots!) They also said my account was "flagged" and I should change my email address and my password. Are you kidding??? UM, NO! They actually tried to punish me for their stupidity. (I have lived at my address in NH for over 25 years, and had my email address for almost 20. The person who actually ordered has the same name, but lives in TEXAS. I have never lived in TX). In addition. the person who actually ordered this merchandise has still not been informed that their order was cancelled because they emailed me instead of to the email address of the 'orderer'! All this has just happened this week. In addition to trying to resolve this by phone and getting nowhere, I emailed them multiple times, also to no avail. I found the email address of their LEGAL DEPT. and I have just emailed not only customer care but also the legal dept. and demanded that they completely DELETE MY ACCOUNT, AND ALL MY INFORMATION from their site. If I don't receive confirmation of this, we will have our attorney contact them. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN, and want everything deleted from their site, and to be taken off their mailing list. STRONGLY ADVISE that you buy elsewhere. I have now found very good deals on what I need on Amazon, and it's not Swanson brand.

For years I was a satisfied customer of Swanson pharmaceuticals to purchase vitamins and supplements. Either ownership or management has changed, and ordering is now a horror show. Yesterday I started an online order to restock things I had depleted and could not check out because a chat box pops up on the checkout page and blocks access to closing checkout. This happens whether you use Paypal or a card. I advise now not using a card. I tried chat and received a "closed" message. I next tried calling customer service and met a recording that my call was received "after hours" and the recording noted to call back during normal hours. Spent two hours trying to get through their defective (designed?) checkout. Next day, I returned to the Swanson site, logged in, and tried to check out my cart. Same cart appeared- now with a price of $81.06 - Also, same defect of chat blocking checkout. I try another web browser and see same defect problem but my cart price jumps to above $93. I call customer service and after an interminable wait I am connected to an obvious call center which I learn is in the Phillipines. The respondent discloses they cannot do anything about the live chat blocking checkout. I ask to be connected to a manager in HQ and I get put on hold and bounced around to more Phillipinos. One finally gets me a transfer to the states who starts playing the helplessness game too and starts to hand off my call to yet another person. While on hold, I think maybe if I can set my cursor arrow at the low end of the page and can click the checkout box before the live chat box loads to block the page, I might get my stuff and get out. After two failures I succeed in beating the live chat reload, but the checkout price is now $101 and I'm charged for shipping that was free when I started. Why should any company need a live chat popup on the cart checkout link anyway? Another two hours shot, and I'm through. When it was operated from Utah, it was great. With whatever happened, it is now a nightmare, I won't go back again and I advise no one else to buy here either.

After my first order I began receiving emails and text messages for products that I do not need and do not want. I ignored the solicitations as a cost of doing business.Recently I placed an order for a product offered at a "sale price." When I began checking out the company changed the price in the cart by an increased almost of 40%. I verified this by signing in multiple times with different browsers from different locations including the use of a VPN. As it turns out there is no consistent price for the product I was interested in, but whatever the offered price is it is always higher when you check out. In my opinion the company is deceptively gaming the sales prices and further is not managed by ethical business people.Avoid this company.

Great quality vitamins and other products, I for one love their ashwagandha supplement. As I live in Europe and order from the local Polish authorized distributor I can’t say anything about the US ordering process which seems to be the cause of many 1 star reviews, but the products themselves are fantastic quality.

If I could give negative stars I would. Bought supplements from them then received a barrage of mindless emails and text messages for products that I do no need or want. They offered a particular supplement for a posted price then changed the price in the cart. Avoid this company.

READ SWANSON VITAMINS LABELS CAREFULLY!This company is very deceitful in selling vitamins. They do not put accurate information on the front of the label for what you are purchasing. I purchased Albion Magnesium Glycinate, 133 mg per capsule. My husband was going to purchase this product because this is the best form of magnesium to take. When you read Swanson's label on the back; in fine print, it says (and Magnesium Oxide). This is the cheapest form of magnesium and the least absorbed in your body; but, the front of the label in big letters says Magnesium Glycinate! I will bet it has very little of the more expensive magnesium in it. They use deceitful and misleading information in the vitamins they sell. READ THE LABEL...I didn't read the fine print and got snookered!! I now have 8 bottles of this poor quality product remaining. I am a long time customer; but, I am done with Swanson Vitamins. Oh! And, when you go to leave a review on a product, if you give it one star; Swanson blocks you from posting the review. Very unethical company!

I want to thank the Swanson online live chat agent Graham for doing extra work to find out for me that the Source Naturals S.O.D. Superoxide Dismutase that does not have Glisodin is not vegetarian. He researched and found for me the vegetarian S.O.D. with Glisodin. It turns out that the non-Glisodin S.O.D. has a bovine source.

Swanson has good products. Lately, products are shipped and arrive more promptly. Problem is that they say free shipping, and they charge $1.79. This practice should end right now. They should say $1.79 shipping on all orders above $50. That would be truthful. Their explanation is roundabout and makes no sense. They should stop this deceptive practice.

Swanson has good products. Lately, products are shipped and arrive more promptly. Problem is that they say free shipping, and they charge $1.79. This practice should end right now. After many years of dealing with this company, my Swanson account got hacked. Within 3 days 6 orders totaling over $600 were placed on my account using one of my stored credit cards. The hacker was using fake email addresses and Swanson didn't bother to check the email address, shipping address, or even ask the hacker for my credit card's CVV code. I reported this as soon as I found out to Swanson, and my credit card company. Swanson's only suggestion was to change my password, which I did. Now, having placed a new order using a different credit card and waiting for shipping info, I go into my account 5 days after placing the order and find it has been cancelled. They couldn't even bother to send me an email. I called them and the representative told me that a fraud alert was put on my account because some person/outfit somewhere had made fraudulent orders, and mentioned that I would not be able to ever order from them again. This is extremely poor customer service, with a "ha-ha" we don't care attitude, and they have lost a long-time customer. Warning: if you have any stored credit cards on your account, delete them immediately - Swanson is seriously lacking in security measures

After 5 years of suggesting they should have online cancellation "feature," on their website -- they still don't have it. It takes a day for them to change anything but the shipping happens early next morning. I really prefer to not order from Swanson if I don't have to, but sometimes choice is limited.

I've never had any major issues with Swanson and have been purchasing from them for decades. If there was an issue it was minor and resolved quickly. Majority of these times had to do with tracking and beyond their control. What I like about them is their customer service and that they have all major quality brands in one place and backed by them. You can do reviews as well and choose what you want, knowing they not only back their branded label, but all products that they sell on their platform. What I noticed here reading complaints were all related to shipping and auto reorders. I used to get frustrated and blame until I learned to read and understand processes. I trust this company more than any other. You know what your getting and not just pur chasing blind.
