“This place was great. The fact that for free of charge you can walk through the building, which naturally doubles as a museum is amazing. The tour of the hanger was awesome. Getting to be up close and personal with their fleet will be a highlight for any plane enthusiast. The real gem of the tour was Amy from the airwear shop. My daughter instantly connected with her and Amy obliged. Amy stayed 30 minutes after she was supposed to leave so she could play, and get drug around by my child to go see the cats again and again. She gave my daughter her full attention, which was truly special, as it was the first time in her short life that she's opened up to a stranger. Joe and the staff have done an excellent job making the hanger incredibly welcoming to all who come visit. Plane nerd or not, you should definitely stop in here during your visit in Yellowknife. “Wonderful experience coming here. This is a small shop located on the lower level of the Y K Centre mall. This is the mall that is connected to the your independent grocer. I called prior to coming because I had a broken zipper on a very old jacket. The owner guaranteed to have it done by end of the day or the next day. They quoted me $45 which is a reasonable price for a zipper repair and I paid in advance. To my surprise, three hours later, Thuy called me and told me my zipper was fixed, and my jacket was ready. I went to pick it up and it was absolutely beautiful and perfectly done. I also had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful, kind and friendly seamstress, Thuy. She is so good at what she does, yellow knife really needs her services here. They also sell jewellery and a few other beautiful clothing items. They are Vietnamese and I spoke about my experience travelling to Vietnam. Vietnamese people are incredible people who have gone through so much yet are strong resilient not to mention kind and humble people. I strongly urge the people of Yellowknife to support this small business and bring your clothing here for hemming and altering. This is what community is all about, supporting our small businesses.
