About The Lighthouse on Cape d'Or
The Lighthouse on Cape d'Or offers a unique and rustic experience for visitors seeking a peaceful retreat in nature. The accommodations are simple but very clean, featuring comfortable beds, warm down comforters, and private bathrooms. There are no fancy amenities like WiFi or TVs, but guests can enjoy a range of basic facilities such as a common area with a fridge, microwave, hot plates, dishes, books, and games. The views from the property are spectacular, with breathtaking vistas and the mesmerizing sound of tidal waves crashing nearby. Visitors can explore the viewpoint and learn about the local riptides through informational boards. The experience is enhanced by the friendly and accommodating host, who is also a talented cook. Guests praise the delicious food, including breakfast and dinner options like lemon caper salmon and chicken curry, which add to the overall value of the stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, ideal for adventurers and those looking to escape civilization and enjoy peace and natural beauty. While the place is not suited for those seeking luxury or modern conveniences, it provides a memorable, authentic experience with stunning scenery and warm hospitality.
It is a very interesting spot. We went in October so everything was closed for the season.

We didn’t stay at the lighthouse but went to view it on our way to Joggins.

Steep walk to the lighthouse and no WiFi (good cell signal though) are the only things you need to know up front. Darcy is very friendly (good chef too) and the views are spectacular. Unique experience and worth the stunning drive to get there. Thanks Darcy
