There are no accommodations onsite. Do not go if you have any mobility issues or you will have to stay at the parking lot viewing deck. The road up is a gravel road that is steep and at times has washouts. I would recommend only AWD or a larger vehicle capable of near off road conditions. It us a steep walk down a gravel path to the Lighthouse. Additionally I would suggest care along the edges of the cliffs as there is evidence of erosion and possible unstable edges. It's a beautiful and impressive view if you are prepared and equipped, and careful. It would be a challenge for any first responders to get there quickly if needed.

This is a fantastic hidden gem. Well worth visiting and taking in a meal or staying in one of the cottages.Sometimes it's the places that are a bit off the beaten path that are so much better.

This place is out of the world. It's a hidden gem and I'm so glad I booked it.Darcy is such an amazing guy and a great chef. Amazing hospitality, fantastic yummy food, and the most beautiful view.Darcy goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. He is a storyteller at heart. You can see his passion in what he does.Make sure you are there before sunset to and enjoy it with a glass of wine. The beds were very comfortable. For everyone complaining about the trek down, it was well communicated in advance and Darcy even offers to haul your stuff down if you tell him in advance. We just took our night backpacks.. it's just a short trek down.Rooms: Comfortable beds and clean.Walkability: Car doesn't go down but it's a short rocky trek down. Don't take big luggage.

Everything is perfect! Darcy’s hospitability made us feel like home. Warm sleep, nice breakfast in a a foggy day with a view and wild flowers - nothing else we can ask for!

Definitely one of the nicest most welcoming places I’ve been to. The food was absolutely amazing. As soon as I got home I told all my friends and family about it and where it was. I definitely would love to go back someday for an anniversary supper or other special occasion. Make sure to have cash on you costed 50$ per person for everything you see in the pictures. Also make sure to fill out the guest book.

This is a truly special place, with a unique view and feel. The manager is a great guy. He was very considerate to our needs, made us feel at home, and is a world class chef. This was a highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. If we had known how lovely it would be we would planned to have stayed much longer!

An amazing experience staying at the lighthouse and wonderful dining too!It is peaceful and the views are unlike anything I’ve experienced. It is worth the overnight stay/dining experience for an out of province trip or a weekend away for anyone who lives in Nova Scotia.

Incredible view for sunrise and sunset. Great accommodations with excellent food and comfortable rooms, not that you should spend any of your time indoors, just hang out on the rocky outcropping

Getting to the Lighthouse on Cape D’or from the main road takes you along 5 km and gravel road that ends at a parking lot. Along the road, there are signs telling you how much further it is and there are also ups and downs, so I would recommend driving slowly and carefully on this part. Once you reach the end, you’ll realize how worth it that drive was as the scenery is so breathtaking. The parking lot is at the top of the hill and you’ll have to walk down quite a steep road to reach the lighthouse, the restaurant, and the accommodations. At the bottom, there are benches and picnic tables all around to use and the view overlooking the cliffs are magnificent on a clear day. For those that are mobility restricted, there is also a lookout at the top near the parking lot which also has beautiful views. This is definitely a gem of a place and a must visit place for those seeking out lighthouses. One of the best in the province!
