“We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Cabot Trail Motel. The view from the room was stunning, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we had 2 excellent meals at the restaurant. The breakfast was particularly good (fish cakes and beans). We will be back.”
“I was pleasantly surprised by the Lynwood Inn. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. We had breakfast on the porch and the food was excellent. The service was wonderful. It is also walking distance to the Baddeck Lobster Supper, restaurant. We could also basically walk the whole town and see the sights. You cannot go wrong with this Inn.”
“We had visited here in late October for a few nights. The views from the room were incredible, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and had great value. We would stay here again no question. The Inn itself is located close to some amazing hikes, and close by to some great restaurant options in Beddeck. Hands down easiest 5 star review ever, Wahab and his team are incredibly welcoming and accommodating.”
“My wife Jean and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at The Chanterelle Inn. It was our first visit ever to Cape Breton Island and the location along the Cabot Trail and North River was perfect for exploring the island and its many treasures.
Sitting high above the Cabot Trail, the views were spectacular from our room and the dining room/enclosed porch areas.
Bettina and Holger were the most accommodating hosts from the time we arrived until our departure. We learned so much from them about the history of the Chanterelle and the area and even got some tips on locations to spot the elusive Moose .
The breakfast menu offered a variety of tasty options and we especially enjoyed our last one on the porch. We enjoyed hearing Holger and Bettina talk about their love of the hummingbirds that entertained summer guests but unfortunately the birds had already left on their migration south.
But most impressive was our dinner on our first evening. It was truly amazing!
Chef Bettina prepares her menus daily with much thought to taste and presentation, using locally sourced foods and primarily organic ingredients. My Wife especially was impressed with the artfully placed garnishes of local edible flowers.
Together with a choice of wine from their curated wine list, we enjoyed a very special evening of fine dining in a very special place.
Holger was a fine waiter!
We highly recommend The Chanterelle if you’re planning a trip to Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail.
