The Crow's Nest - Digby
40 Water Street, DigbyMy peeve here is we'd been to a resturant 2 night prior that closed at 7pm. We arrived at 645, were greeted and seated with smiles. Couple more arrived after us but were not rushed at all. We arrived at Crows Nest at 638pm as it closed at 7pm. Not greeted upon arrival. Then once I asked are we ok to be served, no eye contact and told yes but you got to hurry we close at 7pm. Ok my mistake was to ask so we have to be out at 7 and are we going to be rushed? We were seated, menus practically thrown on the table, no water supplied, and told to hurry with our order as the kitchen closes at 7 ?? At this point looking back, we should have just got up and left. We were told 3 times we needed to be quick from entering the place to placing our order. When I queried the menu I was just told, read the menu, it says right there, again we should have left, I know, but we were hungry and had read good reviews on the place. We ordered and before our food came, which I add was very nice, other waitresses were getting table wear ready for the next day. Not once did our server ask if everything was ok during our meal. I didn't want to leave a tip which is unlike me, but if you close at 7, please make it clear that you stop service at 7, not more orders, if this is the case then anyone who arrived after 6 should be told that the place closes at 7pm. NOT GOOD. My only irk is that we didn't walk out, had a long day driving and were hungry lol
