93 Tannery Rd, LunenburgBest Fish and Chips in Nova Scotia (of the dozens I've tried over the years). Large portion, hot, flakey white in a great batter.
The brewery was out of the two IPA beers I likely would have enjoyed so I just drank water. How does a brewery run out of beer? I'm glad the delicious fish made up for the lack of beer.
My wife did enjoy her beer (red).

The Half Shell Oysters & Seafood
108 Montague St, LunenburgMy wife and I were visiting from Toronto (to Halifax) and took a day trip to Lunenberg and we were told Half Shell was the seafood place to visit. We ordered Oysters and Aguachile as apps. The Oysters were excellent and the Aguachile was flavourful, but the sauce was a bit too thin. Still very good. My main was the Seafood Risotto. I lived in NYC for 13 years and now live in Toronto. I’ve been to the finest restaurants in New York, Toronto, Chicago, London and Paris and this dish was about as good as any I’ve had anywhere. That sounds ridiculously hyperbolic, but it is true. Aside from the amazing food, the service was on point. Let me tell you why… we got there at 12:30pm. Place was already full. All they could offer us was a place at the bar. We were disappointed but we took it. The hostess said to us “once we get a table free we will move you, it won’t be long”. We put our order in and like clock work, once a table came free, we got first dibs, even when there was a 10 person line waiting to get in to the restaurant. She could have easily “forgotten” us, but they didn’t. Cudos to their integrity.
We had dinner tonight at the Five Fisherman in Halifax and I told our server tonight that Half Shell was so good, I’d come back to the East Coast, just to have lunch there again. Well done folks, you deserve all of the praise. Highly recommend.

152 Bluenose Dr, LunenburgWe were served by Mya, she is so cheerful and full of life. Love her energy and her style… the food so yummy… The brisket was very juicy….it was my second time in Lunenburg and I regret not coming to this restaurant before. Mya even let me feed a very cute golden retriever who is apparently a daily customer.

The South Shore Fish Shack
108 Montague St, LunenburgThis place was wonderful no frills restaurant. Outside dining at a picnic table overlooking the bay. The portions are large along with the fish. I would go back tomorrow but the wife and I must be moving on.
