Pet Valu
5686 Spring Garden Rd, HalifaxI wanted to buy some Canadian-made cat treats to take to a friend's cat in Italy. I called first and spoke with a very helpful woman. When I visited the store, she recognized my request and immediately took me to the right section and showed them to me.

Totally Raw Pet Food and Treatery
362 Lacewood Dr, HalifaxOkay so my very first love of my life naked Sphinx Toby died of heart failure. After this event that shook my world, I promised my boy Koby and my latest addition to the family little teddy that I would do everything in my power to make sure that they got the best of food, so now I only shop here for all of their food and their energy. Their mood and their cuteness is thanking me for it. I'm extremely grateful for their advice and high quality raw meat

Pet Grooming

Fricker's Furry Friends Dog Grooming
30 Arvida Ave, HalifaxCharlie is almost 15 and not comfortable with just anybody and Jamie was upfront with her expectations and worked her magic with my senior pup and he looks great. He needed a good clean up, fresh start to welcome the new season coming and has dark nails. Well done Jamie and thank you so much, he looks adorable and was wagging his little tail when I picked him up.

Pet Care

Fairview Animal Hospital
7071 Bayers Rd, HalifaxMy husband and I, along with our Boston Terror, Tony are treated well at Fairview Animal Hospital. Tony is a very loving dog with us at home but is not very trusting with others. He gets great care and compassion from the staff and we are very appreciative of the extra steps which they take to keep him well.

Carnegy Animal Hospital
7 Langbrae Dr Suite 5, HalifaxI had to share my experience! My new rescue dog is not even their patient and we thought she had a tick. They squeezed me in within a half hour and after checking her, it wasn’t a tick but it was a small cyst that they removed easily! It took only 15 minutes but it meant the world to me! When I went to pay, they said it was fine, no charge !
My husband still thinks I’m hiding a huge vet bill ! Lol
Amazing group of people at this clinic !

4 Paws Veterinary Hospital
6410 Lady Hammond Rd, HalifaxDear Dr Patrick
Thank you and all the great and the dedicated staff for saving my life, who would have thought that thread could do so much harm. You saw to me right away because I needed an operation to remove the thread I ate that wrapped around my tongue and went all the way to my small intestine, my overnight stay i was monitored through out the night making sure I was comfortable and my mom and dad where able to call at anytime during my stay. When I was ready to go home the staff made sure my parents knew exactly what needed to be done when I got home to my my recovery fast and painless so I can get back to doing my favorite things like play fetch with my dad. Thank you once again for the great care you all gave me during my stay.

Happy Hounds Doggy Daycare
6300 Lady Hammond Rd, HalifaxWe're very lucky to have the happy hounds team for daycare, boarding and grooming services. They make it a point to get to know the dogs' personalities, preferences, triggers, etc, and meet the dogs where they're at. Kitara's grooming has been so beneficial for my anxious pup. I can't say enough good things, and only wish some of the other larger daycares in town would take notes.

Sirius Dog Walking
5786 North St, HalifaxDave is not just an ordinary dog walker. He is beyond amazing. He is reliable, responsible, professional and loves his dogs. I am very lucky to have business with Sirius dog walking. My baby Louie has been with Dave for more than a year now. Louie was never exposed to wilderness walks before and he was scared to death with water. Dave took his time to spend time with Louie before he decided to take Louie with him which made me feel confident. Dave was also very patient and respectful of Louie’s own personality and Louie is now a such well rounded dog with new interest in water! I can always trust Dave with Louie and his group of dogs who are the best in Halifax area. Louie has amazing friends and another human who gives him so much love now. The bond he develops with his dogs is very special and unique. He know every single one of his dogs even better than their owners!I leave to work every morning knowing Louie will have his own fun with Dave instead of being worried about leaving him alone at home. Louie always comes home happy and satisfied. I would never leave Dave. Thank you so much Dave!!!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Sweet & Sassy (Authentic Caribbean/Fusions Breakfast)
3619 Novalea Dr, HalifaxA foodie’s paradise and our new favourite restaurant! There were four of us, and we each ordered a different breakfast. Every dish was packed with flavour, and we honestly couldn’t decide which one was the best. We shared a slice of cheesecake to finish our meal, and it was the best we’ve ever eaten! The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we’ll definitely be back.

The Bicycle Thief
1475 Lower Water St, HalifaxSpent a month in Halifax, and this was the highlight. Generous portions, incredible flavours, unique dishes, beautiful presentation. We were celebrating a special occasion and our lovely waitress brought us a little extra something for dessert as a surprise! Excellent service. Would absolutely come again if I ever find myself back in Halifax.

Weird Harbour Espresso Bar
1656 Barrington St, HalifaxTHIS is the best specialty coffee in Halifax. Serving cool local roasts, blends, single origin and batch, plus locally made cookies and vegan friendly bikkies that are deelish!
You know you’re in the right place when the atmosphere in shop is honey and chocolate of coffee dust. Hannah our barista is on point with her shots and will recommend a brew for you.
You can sip your brew standing served in crockery or get it on the hop in paper… but don’t miss Weird Harbour if you truly love coffee.

Edna
2053 Gottingen St, HalifaxPut this on the top of your list. Away from the tourist traps, and bordering on North Halifax where it’s just a little edgier and fun. Sit at the bar and enjoy the chats and good vibes with stunning food.
What a little gem 💎 Discreetly tucked deep into this shop front, the cool air, atmospheric lit interior and warm welcoming service was so lovely. We didn’t have a reservation but the super cool matre’d hustled us 3 great seats on the bar while we explored for 15 minutes.
Tori was our fab server who was knowledgeable about the menu and a ‘complete hospo pro’. We felt welcome and looked after.
The food is AMAZING, we had the Tuna tartare and burrata to start then the Halibut, duck breast and the tagliatelle mains. All so tasty, filling and well priced.
It was bustling on a Thursday night so definitely book to dine or chance it and hope to get lucky like we did 😊

The Oxford Taproom
6418 Quinpool Rd, HalifaxLove how chill this place is and the separation of bar and study space is really nice. Drinks are great and the food has been good. The bar staff is so nice but I seem to catch the guys in the cafe on bad days cause they've never been particularly friendly or inviting.

The Brown Hound Public House
2394 Agricola St, HalifaxThis was my first meal in Canada, and wow, setting the bar high. Great staff, good beer, best guiness and steak pot pie I've had since Ireland a few years ago. If I lived in Halifax, this would be on my regular rotation

Propeller Brewing Company — Gottingen Tap Room and Cold Beer Store
2015 Gottingen St, HalifaxGreat little spot. Love that well-behaved dogs are permitted inside. Calvin and I have recently started dropping in for a quick drink (or three) on his evening walks. I usually end up grabbing a few cans to go as well.
Cool little retro arcade room downstairs with a pool table. Nice private patio out back, too.
We'll be stopping by regularly throughout the summer.

We have been to a lot of restaurants and pubs over our trip and nothing was a good as this pub rub! Then to top it all off we didn’t even notice till the bill came that kids were only 5 bucks! Amazing 🤩
