We had such a nice weekend at this hotel. The service and food was amazing and the staff were so hospitable. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay in the Weymouth/Digby area :)

This place was perfeect for me to visit my Grandfather's home in New Edingburg. The breakfasts were delicious and the beds very comfortable. Later I stayed at the Chateau Albert at the Village Historique Acadien in NB, and that is a reproduction of an 1910 hotel - good, but this is an original!

Had lunch here. A lovely old hotel, a little off the beaten path but pleasant environment, tasty and reasonably priced meal, beautiful rug hookings, for sale I think, on display.

Delicious home cooked meals. Best place to go for special occasions or if you just don't want to cook tonight. Have stayed there overnight on our Anniversary and loved being surrounded by the history and atmosphere.

Dined here for three evening meals recently. Fabulous food, best scallops I’ve ever eaten - I counted 15 on my plate, whereas most restaurants would serve 5-7. The haddock and the seafood platter are also exceptional, served with the best fries I’ve had in years. A small menu, but enough variety to satisfy everyone, including meat-eaters. Leave room for dessert - home made pies! The service is excellent, and for people accustomed to city dining, the prices are unbelievably reasonable.

Make the Goodwin a destination when you are in Annapolis Royal, Digby or Yarmouth areas. A day trip to Weymouth or the Acadian Shore will be greatly enhanced by lunch or dinner at the historic Goodwin Hotel. Recently I invited four US college classmates that I hadn't seen in 45 years to visit for a reunion. We spent a week doing many of our Southwest NS highlights, but one of the best was lunch at the Goodwin. The Goodwin is usually not crowded and is not on most tourists radar. The food is very well prepared, presented and served. This is not a typical restaurant, but a fine blend of top notch cooking and informal dining. Whether you are a Nova Scotia resident or a visitor, do yourself a favour and spend some time at the Goodwin in a relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff and a very capable proprietor.
