F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm is a beautiful outdoor area with many trails through gardens and wooded areas. Visitors can enjoy three different trails, including Fernwood, Cherry Lane, and Nuthatch, which are mostly dirt, gravel, or paved and are suitable for easy walks. The realm features scenic spots such as Echo and Seneca ponds, and a suspension bridge over a hollow adds to the charm. The gardens and herb areas provide interesting sights and information about native trees and vegetation. The Nature Center has large windows to view the surroundings, and staff are friendly and helpful, especially for families with children. There are indoor and outdoor activities that keep kids occupied, and a covered picnic shelter is available for snacks or lunch. Wildlife sightings, like a beaver crossing the path, add excitement to the visits. The realm is also part of a tradition for many, with visitors completing the Fall Hiking Spree and collecting shields. Overall, it is a peaceful place perfect for walking, exploring nature, and enjoying the scenery.
Beautiful scenery, wonderful trails. Just wish there was a better way to tell when the birds come out to feed. Edit: They seem to really like to eat at dawn.
December 2025
This big guy (a beaver) crossed the path right in front of us. So cool! We were able to finish the 2025 Fall Hiking Spree and get our new shields just in time (11/29). We have made the spree a tradition and this year marked our 12th year. We left only footprints and collected 12 shield, many photos and cherished memories.
