DoubleTree by Hilton Akron Fairlawn is a hotel undergoing some upgrades, offering a mix of experiences for guests. Many find it a perfectly fine and convenient location for an overnight stay, especially when attending concerts at the nearby Blossom venue, and appreciate the free parking, 24/7 gym, and pool. The hotel itself is older but has a quaint, woodsy craftsman feel, with some rooms described as clean, updated, and comfortable. The staff is consistently praised as very friendly, nice, accommodating, and above excellent, making guests feel welcome. Its location is considered great and perfect, situated in the middle of everything with a large shopping mall across the street and several good restaurants nearby. Amenities include a decent breakfast, a great outdoor pool area, and free Tesla destination chargers. However, experiences vary significantly. Some guests report major maintenance issues, such as rooms without running cold water, broken handles, non-working coffee makers, and difficult-to-lock doors. Problems with small, low toilets that have trouble flushing, very loud noise from adjoining rooms, and an unkept pool area with overflowing trash and used towels are also noted. The lighting and mirrors in rooms are not amenable for putting on makeup. While the hotel smelled clean to some, others reported a musty smell in the lobby area. Although pricey and described as a deluxe hotel with an elegant floorplan and extensive outdoor lounge, it has also been called an embarrassment to the Hilton brand by guests who encountered these problems. Despite the issues, many would stay again, hoping the ongoing renovations address the concerns.

This is a deluxe hotel. Pricey but has the elegant floorplan and extensive outdoor lounge area befitting. Staff and service are above excellent, they make you feel like a rich fancy person every single interaction. Great location in the middle of everything with large shopping mall across the street...

The hotel smelled clean, and the staff was very friendly. There are several good restaurants around the area, and a mall if you are in need of something.
