“Ok, I can't say enough good about Dr Faulkner and his staff. We weren't patients for very long. Our Baxter who was only 10 mos old had to b put down last night. The clinic was technically closed but Dr Faulkner and the staff stayed to do surgery. As soon as we came in the door they were all over us, loving on Baxter and and reassuring me. Unfortunately sometimes things like this happen and no matter the love or care received isn't enough. This was my Bax. He was only 10 mos old. He absolutely loved everyone at the Gentle Vet. They make you feel so welcomed and provide quality care for your pet. I will be forever grateful to them for the love and excellent care they showed my baby. When the time is right, I'm sure I'll b a mom again and the Gentle Vet is where I'll be coming. They are truly wonderful people. Thanks everyone for all you did.”
“Pretty easy to use and go through. Pricing is VERY FAIR for your dogs. Didn't like ?the register early not and then they text EVERYONE at the same time to come in for appointments. Now you have aad rush of people and animals at the exact same time....could do it better by texting in 15/30 mins intervals ?”
“My family has always used Dr. Brown and the lovely staff at West Akron. My rottweiler is now 7 (going on 8) years old and Dr. Brown has helped with all of her vet needs from her first few weeks until now. Always so helpful & knowledgeable and never makes me feel crazy for frantically calling about the symptoms I have been googling and self diagnosing. They are very affordable, plus they are open on Saturdays!”
“Have been going here for about 7 months with 3 different cats, in a range of ages. Dr. Allen helped me euthanize my cat that I'd had for 15 years shortly after we visited the first couple times, and she didn't push me towards it at all, just gave me the facts about her condition and let me do what I thought was right for Amber (said cat) with full support once I'd made my choice. They gave me everything I needed to make her comfortable for a few weeks while we processed what was happening to her. I am incredibly thankful for the support Dr. Allen gave my girl and I in our darkest time, and the ways she brought positivity to what was an incredibly hard decision for me.
Besides that, once I adopted new cats and brought them in, Dr. Mizutani and Dr. Allen gave me peace of mind about how healthy my new babies were (9mo and 3yrs, respectively).
Besides the reviews for the doctors I've met with, this clinic as a whole is a powerhouse. If my preferred doctor isn't available to help when I need it, another doctor will always step in. The receptionists are timely, and any concerns are usually dealt with within the business day. They always call and check in the next day if something serious is discovered at an appointment, or if you take your pet to the ER after hours. I would strongly recommend anyone bring their pet here, I tell all my friends to come here if they're looking for a new vet!!”
“Dr Pearson has been our Vet for many years. He went took classes on Maltese when we came in with our pure breed, just so he was up to date on everything because he hadn't dealt with that breed before. This is why we drive from Cuyahoga Falls to see him.”

“We recently adopted a Belgian malinois and anyone who knows this breed knows they can be high strung and intimidating. Upon walking in, the presence of the vet techs welcoming her made her feel calm and right at home. We truly had such a positive experience. We feel so fortunate Dr. Jacobson is right in our neighborhood and will be our vet for our dog. Extremely knowledgeable and kind. All the staff were friendly and patient. If you live in Akron or the area, I highly recommend! Also, I noticed people noting the costs. This is the by far most affordable vet I’ve been to in the Akron area. The $65 “fee” simply gets applied to your services/deducted from the cost of your visit (if that clears up anyone’s confusion). Again, nothing but positive things to say! Thanks for taking such great care of our dog (and likely our cats in the future)!”

“My husband and I brought our bully puppy and because he was dying it was very scary. They helped us. They were nice to us. They were very in tune with our puppy. They explained pricing medicines. We took him about 12 at night. The nurse is there and the staff that works at night shift on. February 9 we’re very nice understanding and helpful. I do recommend this place. They’re very hands-on and very caring. Unlike other vets I’ve ever been to. They were very good people.”

“I wish I could put 10 stars. My pup had TPLO surgery here two weeks ago and I couldn’t be more grateful and happier with our whole experience. “First of all, I am appalled by the one star reviews because I have been coming to Highland Vet following Dr. O'Connor from previous vet in Barberton. I travel fro Hartville to receive the best services. First of all, Covid and remodeling has left it a bit inconvenient, but sometimes there is a reason for long delays. I have had to put my animal down, and they took the time to care for my pet which probably caused a delay for another appointment. When I have to wait, I know that someone else's pet is getting the attention they need. They have treated at least 25 of my pets/rescues over the past 25 years. I have been to other vets in the past, but Highland Vet has treated all my pets with the best care, surgeries, and compassion at the end. Thank you all for your speedy prescriptions, knowledge, and the best care for my pets. They are so good with my Lucy who is going blind and has many issues. Thank you for the tips for Bosco who has a lot of Border Collie energy and behaviors. Thanks for caring!”
“This vet left an impression on me. Over 20 years ago, there was a stray black lab living around Goodyear’s HQ in Akron. It was late fall and after months of trying to trap the dog to adopt it, I was given Dr. Slenn’s number as he worked with a group who tried to find homes for strays. Dr Slenn volunteered to find the dog and use a tranquilizer dart to capture him.
Unfortunately, the stray dog had a rare condition that made him allergic to the tranquilizer and he died. I know he felt terrible about it as I did, but it was not his fault. This vet loves animals and tries his best! If I still lived in the area and had dogs he would be the first vet I would call!!!”

“We had never been to this place before. My sister-in-law told my husband about it, and the best part is that they have everything separated, one section for dogs and another for cats. Ignacio (my cat) needed vaccinations. The receptionists were very friendly, and then the nurse and the veterinarian were excellent at explaining every detail. Even though Ignacio was scared, they handled him very carefully and lovingly so we all knew he was in good hands. There was also a very kind lady who gave him treads. We should definitely go back soon for more vaccinations and to get him fixed.
I hope to bring my dog to this place too. ❤️”
