“We had to put our family dog down on Monday. It was last minute. Out of 40 places I called either wouldn’t accept new patients, $350 or more, had to talk to a robot/ leave a message. Gentle hands vet is the only one we could afford or get into, and I am so glad we did! I don’t think the experience we had could had been any better, considering the situation. They had a very, very nice comfy room right as you walk in, it was big we were able to take our whole family in. A shelf filled with snacks for you to feed them. They gave our buddy many delicious bowls of snacks and things they wouldn’t usually get. They talked us through everything, gave us all the time we needed with him. I last minute asked for a couple paw prints and they were happy to do so. They carried him out the back door to put in our car for us, very discreetly. They gave us a great price on everything including the paw prints. If we ever have to go through anything like this again we will definitely be back! Thank you for being a gentle vet!”

“Very happy with our experience with this provider. The Doctor was very thorough and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions without making us feel rushed or pressured. They were able to do the procedure immediately which was great as we live 2 hours away. The Doctor and staff were all friendly and professional. They showed care and concern for our little dog Bella and helped make a difficult procedure as stress-free as possible. Prices were very reasonable for such expert care. “We had never been to this place before. My sister-in-law told my husband about it, and the best part is that they have everything separated, one section for dogs and another for cats. Ignacio (my cat) needed vaccinations. The receptionists were very friendly, and then the nurse and the veterinarian were excellent at explaining every detail. Even though Ignacio was scared, they handled him very carefully and lovingly so we all knew he was in good hands. There was also a very kind lady who gave him treads. We should definitely go back soon for more vaccinations and to get him fixed. I hope to bring my dog to this place too. ❤️”

“I just recently moved to Copley and needed to see a new Vet for all 3 of my boy cats. This place is 5 minutes from my townhome. Dr.Brown is AMAZING with my animals and ME! It’s so easy to feel overlooked and/or diminished with concerns but she takes me seriously and listens. I’m not sure of Autumns title but I’ll just say she is the vet assistant as she is the one who holds my cats and I have to say that she is the BEST. I just had an apt today and the woman vet wasn’t in so I had an older gentleman that didn’t shave my cats behind really well( it’s also a $20 charge) and when he left, Autumn looked and told me she will get someone to help her to shave more of the mats out. It was so nice of her to do that and she was amazing with my cat! HUGE shout out to Autumn! Thank you so much! Best customer service and they are all so sweet there.”

“This vet left an impression on me. Over 20 years ago, there was a stray black lab living around Goodyear’s HQ in Akron. It was late fall and after months of trying to trap the dog to adopt it, I was given Dr. Slenn’s number as he worked with a group who tried to find homes for strays. Dr Slenn volunteered to find the dog and use a tranquilizer dart to capture him. Unfortunately, the stray dog had a rare condition that made him allergic to the tranquilizer and he died. I know he felt terrible about it as I did, but it was not his fault. This vet loves animals and tries his best! If I still lived in the area and had dogs he would be the first vet I would call!!!”

“We were pet-less, and brought in a TNR’d neighborhood cat that we decided to adopt after it started hanging around our house. We didn’t even know the gender. Turns out, it was a he! He started to get obvious ticks…and one latched onto his face. That was the final straw. So, we made the appointment to bring him in. We didn’t even know how he’d react to all of this, but we knew we had to do something. Everyone could not have been nicer, and they were so patient with him. They removed 18 ticks! He got his shots, some topical flea/tick treatment, and things could not be better! So thankful for the kindness and overall interest everyone had. Highly recommend!”

“First of all, I am appalled by the one star reviews because I have been coming to Highland Vet following Dr. O'Connor from previous vet in Barberton. I travel fro Hartville to receive the best services. First of all, Covid and remodeling has left it a bit inconvenient, but sometimes there is a reason for long delays. I have had to put my animal down, and they took the time to care for my pet which probably caused a delay for another appointment. When I have to wait, I know that someone else's pet is getting the attention they need. They have treated at least 25 of my pets/rescues over the past 25 years. I have been to other vets in the past, but Highland Vet has treated all my pets with the best care, surgeries, and compassion at the end. Thank you all for your speedy prescriptions, knowledge, and the best care for my pets. They are so good with my Lucy who is going blind and has many issues. Thank you for the tips for Bosco who has a lot of Border Collie energy and behaviors. Thanks for caring!”

“I have always enjoyed having One of A Kind Pets near to home. Not only have I adopted my big boy cat Yogi from the adoption clinic, but about once or twice a year I will have a cat pick me out to feed and rescue it from repeated litters of kittens, disease, and possibly a terrible outcome without intervention. I recently got a wild mama cat spayed and it ended up costing around 165 with flee drops, nails clipped, groomed, a location chip placed in her neck, and of course the spayeding we had originally wanted for our Mama cat. So, if you need good, discounted veterinary services give One of a kind pets a call and someone will be sure to help you out. If you are going to the spay and neuter clinic be sure to get an appointment then arrive early (6:50am) because it's first come first serve and appointments go in first. If you are a walk in I suggest waiting until 8-8:15 as the appointment line will be much shorter by then and the small waiting room might be a bit more accommodating for you and your pet/rescue.”

“So I don't know why I have never reviewed our Vet before, but today (National Puppy Day), I feel like I should. My 3 dogs have been patients here, the oldest for 14+ years. We even moved 40+ minutes away, tried another vet ONCE, and came back. The entire staff is really quite remarkable. Today, all 3 of my "Ladies" saw Dr. Brown-Harold and the amazing staff at WAVC... 2 in office, and one on the operating table at Metro. Top notch care all-around. Delilah, 14, is dreaming away her pain meds on "her" beanbag chair as I write. I couldn't ask for a better place to care for my 3 dogs... "Bedside Manner" is impeccable, and I have always felt my questions are welcome... I will bring my animals here for as long as this Team practices. Thank you again WAVC.”

“Norma Jean had an inoperable mast cell tumor approximately 8 inches in diameter on her hip. She responded to chemotherapy within 5 days. The tumor be came necrotic and excited through a drain hole created by her body in pieces on day 8. She finished the chemotherapy twice a week. Her bloodwork has been very good and the tumor has not returned so far.”
