I came down with some kind of upper respiratory bug this week and have been parked on the couch feeling pretty miserable: body aches, congestion, no voice, and a throat that feels like sandpaper.
At one point I mentioned that all I wanted was something cold, and naturally my mom (who somehow always knows exactly what to do) took time out of her busy day to grab ice cream from our favorite spot, The Whippy Dip in North Kingsville. We’re there often enough that this probably wasn’t surprising 😬😂
She mentioned to the cashier that her sick daughter specifically requested a Brown Cow (if you know, you know 😋), and they joked about whether I wanted whipped cream and cherries too. Obviously yes.
When I opened the bag, this is what I found 🥹
Such a small gesture, but it genuinely made my whole day. Between my mom making the trip and the extra kindness from the staff, it reminded me why we love supporting local places. People remember people.
