The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) is a catalyst for curiosity, a hub of creativity, and a champion for opening minds. Located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, the CAC offers free admission to its galleries, showcasing exhibitions of upcoming local artists, nationally known creatives, and an interactive Creativity Center suitable for all ages. Founded by an intrepid trio of women in 1939, the CAC is a progressive organization committed to lifelong learning and serving as an integral space where people can reflect, create, collaborate, and connect around a more inclusive and sustainable culture.
Visitors can explore fascinating exhibits, such as the live performance art of Tai Shani's "My Bodily Remains," or the captivating Zaha Hadid exhibit. The CAC's diverse programming caters to various interests, with the top floor offering an interactive space for families and children. While some areas, like the stairwell, could use better maintenance, the CAC remains a great place to immerse oneself in art and culture, with ample opportunities for enrichment and engagement.
Free entry because the two levels of exhibits were being installed. Not really worth a visit on these days unless you have small children who'd enjoy the 6th floor play experience. Reasonable ticket prices for other days at about $12. I don't think there's any need to buy tickets in advance. Staff was all lovely!

Hadid's stacked boxes on Sixth Street dump you into a lobby that feels more like a ramp than a museum. I spent an hour on two floors of video and a room of plywood sculptures, then the desk person said the performance space upstairs was dark until Friday. Gift shop is a shelf, not a store.

Beautiful looking ART museum. Reminds me of my childhood with all the ART.
