Only one person working the counter… the gold membership booth is closed. No one is being helpful because they’re all running around and don’t have time. If you’re a platinum member, they don’t care. Clearly the workers are understaffed and underpaid. It’s not okay. If you’re booking with Hertz you’re expecting a certain standard by paying all this money consistently for a rental car. Staff your place accordingly so that you’re platinum and gold members aren’t standing in line for an hour. And pay your people more so that your loyal clientele don’t go elsewhere. We’re all frustrated with your operation. We “apologize for the inconvenience” is not enough.

When I got into my vehicle I noticed a smoke smell. However, this was the only car they had available with Android Auto, which I needed since I didn't know the area well. I let the attendant know about the smell on the way out of the exit, and she made a note of it (I have the carbon copy of this transaction). After returning my car, I got the receipt while I was already back in Georgia that slapped on a $500 smoking fee. I don't smoke, and I have physical proof that Hertz knew about this when I rented the vehicle. I guess they don't check the agreements and damage reports when they check you out? That's pretty concerning.
However, by far and large the WORST part of this whole experience has been trying to get in touch with them. I have tried every phone menu option to try and get an employee multiple times for OVER A WEEK NOW. I have also submitted a help ticket on Hertz website (5 days ago, no response). Hertz customer service is absolutely non-existent.
I am a President's Circle Member and have probably spent well over $10,000 with Hertz just this year but I am absolutely sickened by this. What kind of business treats their customers like this? Or better phrased, doesn't treat their customers at all?

Terrible location — accepts reservations but then the location is closed at night. Avoid Hertz.

My sisters and I flew into the Cleveland Airport from all around the country for our bi-annual gathering last Monday, September 29th. It was my job to rent the car. When I got to the Hertz Desk, Evie, the attendant looked up my reservation and said that it was actually set for downtown Cleveland. I would not have made a downtown reservation as we were all flying into the airport. It took well over an hour, but with Evie’s help, the support specialist I finally got connected to canceled that downtown reservation without penalty and Evie got us a comparable minivan for our 5 day visit to Ohio. She was patient and supportive and very helpful, and helped this very tired traveler and her sisters get on the road for a wonderful vacation. Thank you, Evie!!!

If i could give 0 stars i would. I had booked a car and the lady told me it would be an extra $250 on top of the $316 i have already paid for. Paid that then went to try to get out of the parking lot and was told i still owed $172. The lady we dealt with was rude and very unprofessional we walked back in and she yelled our card was declined. We never put our card in to be charged the $172. She also did the same to a person in front of us. Never again will i rent through them. If i didnt need the car i wouldnt have stayed almost 2 hours before a manager talked to us and allowed us to leave.

Easy in, pick a vehicle, easy out, easy return, quick shuttle to and from airport. All around good experience.

I was using a Rollator (a walker with 4 wheels) and was struggling with all the luggage I had. The gentleman who was at the return drove me to my terminal and helped offload my luggage. He went way above and beyond!

Just finished a rental with Hertz at the Cleveland airport. My wife believes she left her sweater in the rental car. She called to see if they had it. The representative wanted a $195 deposit to look for it. Ridiculous!!! I will never rent from Hertz at the Cleveland airport again!

Hertz is still the best! While it is a bit of a PITA having to take the bus from the Airport to the car rental counter and back it was a smooth trip. Hertz Gold is so worth it. Plenty of cars to choose from took me longer to figure out what car I wanted than it did to get checked out. Unlike friends who flew in at the same time but rented with another company and had to wait to get a car and it wasn't even clean when they got it. Best part about renting in Cleveland is there is a gas station right around the corner so no need to prepay for gas.

Customers are not allowed to stay for the check in inspection. Then accused of smoking in the vehicle and charged a $500 fee. Hertz is completely scamming people.
