Bangkok Grocery & Gift is a low-key Thai restaurant and Asian grocery that is easily on par with or beats any fancy Thai restaurant. It is considered one of the best places in the whole country, with delicious and very affordable food that is the closest to authentic home cooking. Favorites include the beef jerky, pad Thai, tandoori, mango sticky rice, wonton soup, Tom Ka Gai Goong, Pannag Goong, Nom Tok, Poh-Tak, and Drunken Noodles. The food is wonderful and packaged perfectly, with seafood packaged separately to avoid overcooking. The attached grocery has a great selection of authentic Southeast Asian ingredients. The staff is friendly and helpful. Note that the restaurant is currently take-out only with no dine-in seating, and it closes at 6 pm. It is highly recommended and worth the trip.
