John Bechtel did a wonderful job making my experience at Byers Mazda pleasant. He was knowledgeable and helpful, and at no time did I feel pressured or unvalued. He helped me pick the best vehicle for my needs, and made the car buying experience relaxing.

I wish zero stars was an option because that's what this place should get. My husband and I were traveling almost three hours to purchase a used vehicle (not from this dealership. And if it had been at this location and we were treated the way we were, we'd have walked away from the deal.) My husband called and made an appointment to have the car inspected by a Mazda mechanic at Byers prior to our purchase.
When we arrived at our appointment time, the girl working told us they wouldn't be able to get to it until 12:00 or 1:00. What is the point of making an appointment for 9:30 if the car isn't going to be looked at for hours?! Nobody takes a car for a three+ hour test drive, so there was no way we were going to be able to leave the car there that long. She then told us she didn't have any technicians available to perform this service on a Saturday. So why were we given a Saturday appointment for this service if nobody can do it?! My husband was very clear when he made the appointment that we were driving from another state to purchase a car and wanted to make an appointment with a Mazda mechanic to have the car gone through before we made a final decision, he was assured that was something that they could do but the only appointment available for that on Saturday was at 9:30, so he made the appointment for that time.
When he asked what they would be able to do with the car if we left it until 12:00 or 1:00, we were told they could check the tires and wipers. No putting it up on a lift to check the underside, no test drive. We can see the tires and wipers for ourselves and know how to see if those are in good shape.
Not at all happy with the customer service we received here (the girl in the service department was rude and had an attitude) and would not set foot in the place again. If you can't perform a service for someone, don't tell them you can and then make an appointment for it. Wasting people's time and lying to them is not the way to do business and you will certainly not get mine in the future.
**9/4/24 UPDATE** We received a call from Jeff, the Parts and Servivce Director for Byers Mazda, and he was very apologetic about what happened. My husband spoke with him at length about the situation and I appreciate the time Jeff took to reach out to us and make things right.
He said what happened is definitely not the way they do things and they would be looking into where things went wrong. I appreciate that they are making sure things like this don't happen in the future--it was a very stressful situation as I knew we wouldn't purchase a car that hadn't been inspected and I was afraid that was the end of that car for us after we'd just driven over 150 miles. Not being local made things more difficult since we couldn't just go back and forth or try to find another shop that could get us in last minute the same day. We appreciate Jeff's empathy to the situation and how apologetic he was. Since this seems to be a one-off thing, I would consider returning in the future.

Everyone I talked to at Byers were very friendly and respectful. My salesman Michael O'Brian went above and beyond to answer my questions and was very respectful. Thank you all for all your help!

What an absolute horrible experience with the parts department. Called to check on the availability of a part with a part number and the guy was an absolute jerk. I would not order a part for my car from this dealer.

Ray Snapp made the buying experience so seamless and fun! He was very detail-oriented, patient, and understanding. Car shopping can be stressful, especially when your current car isn’t what you need anymore. I very much appreciate the time he took with me to understand my needs so we could find the best car for me at a good deal. Josh Wiswell, Russell Wilson, and the rest of the team, took great care of me too throughout the process. You really can’t go wrong with this team at all.

They charged me $900 to perform diags and replace a battery in a mazda 3. And, they attempted to service over $5000 in othee repairs when we came in for a seat cover and to fix the audio systems cmu, a known lemon feature. Don't go here.

I really enjoyed working with Russel Wilson and the team at Byers Mazda in Columbus Ohio.
Russel made me feel very comfortable in making my purchase of my new Mazda.
It is always hard to know who to trust when making a major purchase like this, but the Byers team was very friendly.
Russel also went above and beyond in ensuring I was comfortable with all the latest technology that came with my new CX50.
