Joe in the bike shop has the patience of a saint, and he was extremely helpful with my bike on a busy Saturday afternoon. Scott was also great to connect with on the sales floor! It’s a trek to Easton, but I’d definitely recommend this location for the great staff.

If you need shoes, go see Daryl! He is a magician with finding the right shoe for you and so, so, so kind. He helped my boyfriend and I find new pairs of shoes for our Asheville trip coming up! He asks questions about the shoes, gives you some prompts and movements to try, THEN makes suggestions or alterations based on your answers. It’s almost like he’s writing a prescription for the right shoes that will fit your feet type!! I had no idea you can lace shoes differently to make them fit your foot better, either! He was patient and really listened to my feedback to find the right fit. Daryl deserves a raise, a promotion, and trip to Disney world!! Thank you so much!

Love the fact that regardless of what I’m looking for at REI there is always someone there knowledgeable to help. I went yesterday to return an item and there was no fuss. Only place in town also that actually sells rock tape.

I've only shopped here twice, but both experiences were great. I go here for nice outdoor shoes and the shoes shopping experience in itself is always great. The first time they were extremely busy and the guy was super attentive and helpful. The second time, even after I told the sales person I'd buy them, she asked me questions to make sure I was comfortable with the shoe. These days quality in service dwindles and staff members (who aren't managers) being interested in their customers, is rare.

Can’t recommend REI enough especially due to their customer service. Had an issue with a 3rd party after ordering online and the store could have easily said to deal with it with online customer service. Instead, the store Manager Sarah, told me not to worry and quickly helped me resolve the issue in person.

I went in to look at a new pair of hiking boots for a big trek I'm going on next year. I was helped by Darrel and he was incredible! He took the time to get to know me and my needs for the boot. He made recommendations based on the shape of my feet as to what he thought would work best, and the 2nd boot I tried on was a perfect fit! He really knew his stuff, shared some knowledge about hiking boots I had never heard before, even though I have been hiking for well over 10 years. He really made me feel heard and went above and beyond my expectations I had going in to the store!

Mixed bag of experiences here. We had a great time here picking out climbing shoes with a worker who's name I wish I could remember, he was very knowledgeable and talked about his own climbing experience. We went on to also buy climbing harnesses. However, when one didn't fit we attempted to return it and the cashier sighed and asked if we knew anyone we could sell it to so they didn't have to mark down a basically new harness. She didn't end up taking it back but it soured the mood so we left instead going on to shop. I'll be questioning if I want to buy things here again if I might need to return it.

The phone number is a cheesy voicemail which lies about not being open, despite having called during normal business hours, I love REI, but having a voicemail that lies and says they’re closed when they’re open is annoying and unprofessional. It’s shameful their leadership has dropped the ball in this
manner.

Isabel was so helpful when I went to REI Easton to buy a pair of pants. I told her I wanted a pair similar to the old Columbia pants I was wearing. I had already looked around the store and checked their website but hadn’t found anything that looked right.
Isabel told me how much she liked the Mountain Hardware Dynama pull-on pants she was wearing, which were similar to what I was looking for, then she walked with me to find the pants in my size and color. She handed me two sizes, and while I was trying them on, she took it upon herself to check the REI website to see if Columbia pants similar to my old ones were still available.
I left with a pair of comfortable, attractive pants. Plus, this was first time I ever had fun buying pants.

If I could leave them 0 stars, I would. My husband LOVES this store, and he gets all his outdoor gear from there, and even though I know it won’t make a difference to them, we won’t be shopping at REI (specifically this location) anymore. For an OUTDOOR shop that even sells outdoorsy apparel for pets, dogs, they are not pet-friendly. We walked in with our extremely well-behaved dog, and one of the employees stopped us in the middle of the store and told us we had to leave unless our dog was a service dog because they do not allow pets in the store. The irony.

Outdoor adventure has dog supplies, but dogs are not allowed. First REI I've visited with this policy.

A gentleman by the name of Scott was super helpful with my climbing questions. He took the time to explain belay devices, lead climbing, rigging, and other gear. He even took a few things out of their package to demonstrate. Climbing gear is pretty doggone important. Scott has my vote of confidence to properly outfit a climber. Highly recommended.
