My 89 year old mother was in the emergency room Friday night due to a fall. The NP spent 1 minute with her and said she!d be ok. She left and never came back. A man (not sure what his position was) came in the room and put ointment on the wound which was expired in December. What a joke ! Horrible experience and the staff was just as bad!!

The emergency dept was clean, the wait time was not long. The professionalism of the staff in the emergency dept needs to be reviewed. I was sent from my ob/gyn for a fall, to make sure my baby was okay. The ultrasound tech was pushing down on my pelvic area so hard that her hand was shaking and when I expressed she was causing me pain she laughed and pushed down harder and longer. If you cant get a decent visual the way you're doing it, then try an internal ultrasound. En external ultrasound can be uncomfortable but it should never hurt and it shouldnt cause the bruising that i have from what she did. Apparently no one taught her how to properly perform an ultrasound and that its not professional to laugh at your patient when they tell you you're causing them additional unnecessary pain. If it wasnt for the young ultrasound tech that day, my entire experience would've been good.

I strongly advise anyone to not come here unless you like to be gaslighted and treated less than human. I recently worked here as a nurse and was constantly witnessing such inhumane treatment that had been normalized by staff.
For example, there was a non-combative patient who was not a threat to themselves or anyone else. I watched Gabby (RN) and Ashley (RN) go in the patient's room and without saying anything, the 2 of them pinned the patient down to inject medicine into their arm. This patient was screaming and crying as they were being held down and injected without warning, explanation, or any justifiable reason.
While this was morally conflicting, during my time working here I had been taught that nothing good will come out of anyone trying to stand up for someone who cannot stand up for themselves.

Hello (To Whom It May Concern)
My Wife Sherri went on Thursday June 20 for HIDA scan, or Hepatobiliary Iminodiacetic Acid scan the results of this test were positive for a non-Functioning Gallbladder with blockage as test showed none of the expected flow thru the gallbladder.
We were then sent to the Emergency Room. After 6 hours of further testing and waiting it was deemed non-Critical and they did not have a surgeon on staff/Site on this day. They told her to contact the surgeon and schedule an appointment she has an appointment on July 1 to meet with a surgeon
Karen Grassie MD Doctor Profile & Reviews
So now on June 25, 2024, her Quality of life and current suffering due to having a nonfunctioning Gallbladder in her and she can’t eat solid food and not too much at any one meal she is suffering with bloating and gas pains and stomach cramps and Diarrhea and feels Miserable. She is eating Imodium tablets like candy for the pain and discomfort she is experiencing.
I spoke to her treating physician and even she feels this was an incorrect decision. To not escalate this removal of her gallbladder.
This patient management without a Quality-of-life consideration without the potential of Death or other serious Complications and to delay the treatment solely on this is not in the best interest of the patient care. Releasing her and knowing the possible suffering she would experience is deplorable.
It is truly sad that I even feel compelled to write this Email on Behalf of her seeing what she is Experiencing. It is truly sad that patient care considering quality of life and knowing that she will suffer is deplorable.
in this Modern-day medicine Treatment is more business managed and not patient Care and consideration. Any further degradation of her condition and quality of life impact will be addressed in the future as required by us.
Sincerely Joseph Reese

I was at UH Tripoint ER after falling backwards and hitting my head twice on cement, and my doctor told me to go to the nearest ER and get a CT scan. We came to Tripoint since they used to be an excellent facility. I guess that changed when UH bought out Lake Health, and definitely not for the better. Even the nurses were telling me that the nurses were leaving “in droves“ (her words), because of the new rules that were being implemented by UH, and that they were not being listened to. She said the doctors were leaving too.
I arrived around 7:30, blood dripping from my head. I was seen by a triage nurse fairly quickly who took my vitals, and checked me in. I had the CT scan and
X Ray’s done within the next hour. And then we waited. And waited. The waiting room was full of families, one large family who obviously had been there a long time since someone had brought them McDonalds for the whole family!
After a few hours my husband went up to the front desk to ask how much longer it would be. The woman there was very snarky, and said she didn’t know, but if we wanted to leave and go to my doctors office, it probably would take a couple of weeks for the records to be sent to him. Because of the urgent nature of my condition, I stayed.
After several hours, I was called back to a room, which was in an area that we were the only people there. It was then when we (husband and me) were complaining about the wait) that a passing nurse stopped to talk, and told us about the nurses leaving, and why. I had a suspicion that it had to do with the take over.
A little while later a male nurse came in. He listened to what had happened, told us there wasn’t anything on the CT scan, and the X Rays didn’t show any broken ribs, they were just badly bruised. He said he would clean the blood off the wound on my head to make sure it didn’t need sutures before the doctor came in.
He very gently cleaned the blood out of my hair, which was very saturated. He kept apologizing to me for hurting me, but I assured him that I was ok. Once he could see the head wounds, he said that it didn’t look like I needed sutures, but he’d let the doctor make the decision.
The doctor came in shortly after that, said that I had a closed head injury, but it wasn’t too serious. He looked at the wound, and agreed with my nurse that I didn’t need sutures. He asked if I was in pain and told the nurse to give me something for it.
We could tell that he was rushed, though he spent the time he needed with me. He had a good relationship with the nurse, and trusted his judgment. The nurse told me that the doctor was the only doctor on duty in the ER. We remembered him from before UH, and he is a good doctor. He was just overstretched being the only doctor for the entire ER.
All in all I spent 8 1/2 hours in the ER, with 45 minutes being with the treating nurse and the doctor. It’s not that I expected that I would be in and out of the ER, with no wait time. There’s always a chance of another emergency that’ll take priority. But 8 1/2 hours, and the treatment by some of the people in the ER is unacceptable. That will be the last time I’ll go to University Tripoint ER.
Just as an aside, my doctor had me get a couple more X Rays a few days later, since I was still in pain, and he couldn’t get the records from UH. I went to Cleveland Clinic, was treated like a human being, and the whole visit, X Rays and them bringing in a specialist to review and explain about how to do exercises for my rotator cuff, which they found was severely bruised, and was causing the pain. UH had missed this. I still spent a few hours at Hillcrest, but was updated on my status at regular intervals.
I’d give UH ER a zero if I could.

Horrible, unprofessional and would not recommend to anyone! I took my best friend in with chest pains they did some tests but sent him home in extreme pain saying they couldn’t find anything. Prior went to an Urgent Care they wanted to take by ambulance for an irregular EKG. My first husband died at a UH hospital, I will never ever go there or refer anyone ! Cleveland Clinic is the ONLY place I will go !!! The doctor James C Haines was condescending and acted as if he wasn’t concerned when I asked to speak to him they said he was with a patient then I asked again they said he left. I had to unhook all the machines to take my friend to the bathroom, I had to go get warm blankets myself. When they released him in excruciating pain they gave him Tylenol (what a joke ) Awful, awful, awful !!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE THERE AT ALL COSTS !!!!

Once we got in it was waiting. These people don’t care. Their demeanor towards the sick/injured and their families is absolutely disgusting. I have had the same experience when it was first built. I have not been here for years and I had to bring a family member here and oh my God they are worse. The VA was brought up in front of congress for wait to see people this group should be dismantled. Back in the early 2000’s this place had the nick and it still fits. If you need care hope to GOD you don’t come here. Look at the reviews there is a reason it is rated so low. If there was an option for -0 that is the tire rating.

Literally I have a 7 week old baby who was super sick and was running a fever and took him to the closest ER. Which was tri-point. They made me feel so dumb because I didn't give them Tylenol when they are a newborn, instead of explaining it. Then they come in talking to me like I'm dumb and it says go by weight. This ain't my first kid and never heard of that. She even came back in and said it does say consult a doctor and yeah AKA WHY IM HERE ! and as I'm waiting there's literally a PhD in front of my room sitting there literally knitting or playing on her phone and I have proof of that. Sickening no wonder why your ER so empty now.

Place is super slow, but the worst part is they almost were responsible for my grandma dying. TWICE. she will no longer go here ever again she only went the second tim bc she was taken by ambulance during an emergency and they refused geauga.. Do yourself a favor and go to GEAUGA. They told my grandma she had a cold but really she had pneumonia and they sent her home. Geauga admitted her the same day and she was there for two weeks. I won't ever come here again. hospital should be SHUT DOWN.. drive the extra 25 mins to geauga hospital.

This was my worst ever hospital visit! I have been on antibiotics for 3 days for an eye infection and antibiotic drops. Well now it's spread to my other eye and it's even worse. I saw a doctor for maybe 3 minutes and all she said was that I have to get into an eye doctor asap. She didn't even look at my eyes up close! And she wasn't very friendly either. She acted like I was going to give her the plaque! I will never come to this hospital again! Keep your family and friends safe, choose another hospital!

This is the second time at tripoint emergency center in the last two years. Both times we left after sitting for over three hours in cold rooms and feeling like we were a bother. The receptionist however was very nice.

Horrible place I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. I was stuck several times they couldn’t even put in an Iv correctly left both my arms bruised. They didn’t wear gloves correctly and had nasty attitude. They did a ct scan when that was clearly not the best method when I asked to speak with an ombudsman they said they didn’t know what that is. Wish I could give them zero stars
