The Delaware County Fairgrounds offers a variety of memorable experiences for visitors. The fairgrounds are known for their rich history and community spirit, celebrating events like harness racing, including the famous Little Brown Jug, one of the races in the Harness Racing Triple Crown. Visitors often enjoy the lively atmosphere, especially during the fair, with activities such as harness racing and other traditional fair features. During the holiday season, the fairgrounds transform into a stunning holiday display, with beautiful Christmas lights and high-tech lighting that create a festive and joyful atmosphere. Many visitors, including families and those honoring military service, find the lights show to be breathtaking and a perfect way to celebrate Christmas. The military display during the holiday season adds a heartfelt touch, honoring veterans and creating a special experience for all. However, experiences can vary depending on the timing of the visit. Some visitors warn that going after the fair’s main events, especially on the Friday or Saturday following the Jug, may lead to disappointment, as many animals and attractions might be gone, and food trucks closed. Still, visitors who come earlier in the week often have wonderful, five-star experiences. Overall, the Delaware County Fairgrounds is appreciated for its history, community events, and seasonal displays, making it a cherished local destination.
