Website for the store on North Main in Dayton said they had a part in stock and available. Well, they didn’t. So store on North Main called the Fairborn store and put the part we desperately needed on hold at the location in Fairborn. After driving all the way to Fairborn, they let us know that they decided to sell it to another person. All we got was, “Well, sorry” That’s ridiculous. Ace hardware has absolutely no customer service abilities at all.

I am updating my review to a 5-star rating due to a recent positive experience at the store. My daughter owns hermit crabs and had purchased a piece of glass that needed to be recut due to a change in her original plans. Although the individual I spoke with over the phone was not particularly helpful or courteous, we decided to visit the store in person for assistance. The staff at the store were prompt in addressing our request and took the glass to be cut without hesitation. They were very friendly and accommodating throughout the process. We had anticipated having to purchase a new piece of glass or pay a cutting fee, but to our surprise, they returned the cut glass to us free of charge. The exceptional in-store service we received exceeded our expectations and solidified our decision to return for any future requirements that can be fulfilled here. We sincerely appreciate your assistance, and we eagerly anticipate our next visit.

Thankful for a local hardware store. Last few visits have not been as good as those visits prior to Rocky's. Previously, there was always plenty of help. Not so much now. Staff are less informed about tools and projects than me (which says a lot). I was asked once when leaving, "Did you find everything you need." I loudly said "No," and cashier ignored my comment. They seemed clueless about their 100th anniversary celebrations--even when I made inquiries. Amazing.

I went in for a couple things and to get keys cut. I asked to have my key cut. The first guy said he'd do it then disappeared. A lady showed up to help, she left saying she would call someone else. I found my own key and a kid finally came and cut them. I left 25 minutes later. I was one of 6 people in the store.
