This was my first time getting a rental at the Budget Car Rental in Fairfield. The nice gentleman who checked me out was great and I mentioned I drove an Ioniq and he's like try the 2025 Toyota Prius and I was excited to try it because he said the gas mileage would great. Next morning on my trip, the service light goes off and I'm in panic at 4am because I couldn't get assistance. Luckily, its the tire pressure and I was able to fill it up before my trip. I was excited to drive this Prius because of the gas but my trip was 484 miles there and back and, I had to fill up 6 times from Thursday to Sunday. That's crazy! I wasn't impressed w/ the car suggested to me. I rushed back to get my car back and it was about 5 minutes after 12 and I apologized for being late and the lady there was like hurry, we about to close. No greeting, nothing. She had her tablet, went out to get the mileage and opened my trunk and was shaking her head like all my stuff should have been out by now but I just got there. She did was she had to do, I went in and got my receipt and in a hurry closed and locked the door to leave work. Sigh. Thanks Budget of Fairfield.

DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET IN FAIRFIELD OHIO!!! I rented a full size car and the brakes were faulty. Every time I had to stop I just prayed that it would stop and no one would get killed. I tried to return it to get another car and the woman was SO rude and nasty to me. She said there was dog hair all over the seats, (I don’t even have a dog) and there would be a $450 cleaning fee. What?!! I was there for a safety issue, it’s 10 minutes before they close and she says if you go vacuum it out then there will be no charge. ?? I say so I have 10 minutes to come back here? I left and continued to drive with the faulty brakes. Who ARE these people? Someone needs to close their business for good for bad business practices. I’ll be working on that.
And… ADMIN, don’t bother leaving me an over the top polite response saying you’ll look into this.

I had a terrible experience with this Budget location. I was given a car with no windshield wiper fluid for a 10-hour trip with my kids. When I called for help, I was told to find the nearest airport—completely unhelpful and unsafe.
When I returned the car, the employee didn’t greet me or ask about my trip. She just took the keys and walked off. When I tried to mention the issue again, she got rude, raised her voice, and literally told me she didn’t bother being nice because she knew I was going to complain.
The service was completely unprofessional from start to finish. I expected better from a company like Budget and would not recommend this location to anyone.

Red flag alert: This is one of numerous negative reviews. This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. They have shady business practices, namely bait and switch. The associate here was rude, indifferent and didn’t even try to be helpful. I prepaid for a premium SUV, which should have been a Suburban, or a Tahoe. They tried to down grade me to a Ford Explorer, offering only $15 off the total cost. Let’s do the math here, the premium SUV is $129 per day and the economy SUV is $70 per day! For my 4 day rental, that’s a $240 difference!!!! I had to call corporate to get my reservation canceled and I to have them issue my refund,of course that took up more time and wasn’t smooth either. I will never visit this location again, nor will I use Budget rental ever again! Spend your money elsewhere!

Exceptional Service by Kwame Brown
I recently had the pleasure of renting a car through Budget and was assisted by Kwame Brown.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and a professional attitude. Kwame Brown demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, ensuring that the entire rental process was smooth and hassle-free.
What stood out to me was his attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to answer my questions.
The car I rented was in excellent condition, clean, and well-maintained.Kwame Brown made sure I was comfortable with the vehicle and even offered tips for a safer and more enjoyable driving experience. He truly made me feel like a valued customer.

I rented (3) 12 passenger vans. One van had a broken latch at side window that prevented the window from closing. There was aged Duct tape used by Budget to try and keep the window closed, so it was obvious this was not a new issue. It rained on the evening prior to my pick up, and there was water inside the van at this window location. I requested an exchange and the only other van available was filled with sand. This was unacceptable, so I asked if there was another location with a van. Only one van was available 1-hour away, so the employee said I would need to drive the van with the broken window and exchange it at the other location. Fairfield Budget knew about this damaged window and still had it in circulation. I won't rent from Fairfield Budget again.

Kwame was fantastic! Great experience with this location! I ended up at this location because another Budget location cancelled on me, so they transferred me. I called before going and spoke to Kwame on the phone who was friendly and professional. I got to the location and he was working and was just as friendly and professional in person as he was on the phone. When I returned the car Kwame was working and he made check-in just as easy and simple as it was during check out. I had to call the location during my rental period to ask a couple of questions, and I wish I would have caught the woman's name I spoke with. She was also very nice and helpful. Overall this experience exceeded my expectations, and I will recommend them to others and use them again if I find myself needing another rental.

Do not spend your money here. They tried to give me a truck with a flat tire for a 6 hour drive. Lady at the front desk was rude and basically said not my problem. “My boss inspected it yesterday and said it’s fine” They offered no solution and had no way to air up the tire. Zero customer service. I got dropped off here so I was stuck. Had to Uber to a uhaul location and had a much better experience there. Avoid this place at all costs. I got a call from corporate threatening me with fines for not returning the truck that I never even rented. This place is a mess.

Delayed my vacation due to 2 different vehicles not working properly. Had to drive an hour to the airport to pick up 3rd Vehicle. wasted 8 hours of my day.

Went to rent a 16 ft truck and they tried to pass an12 ft saying was 16 and not to mention sounded like the Motor was about to drop out then was sent to a another location to pick up a 26 to be accommidate us and when arrived at this Fairfield location they say they oh this truck doesn't work and there's nothing they can do or not give us a truck at all to call customer service

Gave us a car with no air conditioning on a hot humid day. When we call them that we will be driving back the 40 minutes to return the car, we were told they will call us back when there’s a car available. No car at all? They could have offered us a different car even if it’s a different size of what they gave us for the inconvenience.
Upon reading reviews, it seems that the cars from this place are not properly checked. Read through the reviews and you’ll see. Actually just go to the Enterprise less than a mile away and give the business there. Ours was just AC, the other cars not properly inspected in previous reviews were more of a dangerous issues.
Their cars are not inspected thoroughly so therefore unsafe to drive

The lady at the desk needs to be replaced. She is rude and aggressive. Do not put yourself through it. I have rented from here twice, and it is the same trash service from the same trash female. There is another location 7 miles from this one. Do yourself a favor and go there. Literally go anywhere else.
