DO NOT USE THIS SHIPPING COMPANY. It’s been a nightmare. Central customer service has no idea what’s going on at local facilities. Oh, and wait times to talk to someone is over an hour…… Where do I even begin? So I was unaware that you can pay $50 to know (and possibly choose) if your container is AM or PM drop off and pick up (4 hour windows). This wasn’t offered to me at time of scheduling. The day before pick up I call to see if I can determine a window for pick up because it can be anywhere from 8 AM to 11 pm. Customer service says it’s too late for me to pay the $50 to even just KNOW time of day (not even choose a time). So we pull an all nighter to make sure containers are perfect by the potential 8 am pick up. Only for them to NO-SHOW!! I get a text from a manager at 8 pm stating no one is coming and he won’t give me a detail of when someone might be coming the following day. I should also preface this by stating my container wasn’t filled early because the driver told me it had to go in the road but didn’t give me a heads up that I might need a permit, so the city tries to condemn it…….and then the driver comes back and puts it in my driveway after we threaten them with the issue). After the no-show, customer service confirms the containers will be picked up 7:30-8 am the next morning. Get up early—again NO-SHOW. After many phone calls, driver shows up in the evening to tell me he can’t even take both containers that day!!! This is a home seller’s nightmare. Eventually he talks to manager and comes back for the second container after a “cancellation.” Customer service promises this delay in pick up won’t change drop off dates. Well, that was another lie. Containers will at least be 2 days late and they can’t even guarantee if this is accurate. SAVE YOURSELF. CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY. I understand there can be delays in travel, but they have NO IDEA what is going on at any moment during the service. Wait times are long.

I requested a 16ft for a delivery of anytime. Got a 30 minute call ahead Joe was very professional. Container arrives on time and the driver instantly said this isn’t going to fit in my condo parking spots. He went out of his way to try and figure out a plan and we didn’t have a successful solution after 30 minutes! I informed him that I literally had explained to the customer service representative what type of community I live in and she went ahead and said oh it will fit in your parking spots. My main concern is that customer service need to either pull the areas up on radar or have it where you can send photos in so they can determine if it fits rather then having the drivers make a trip for no reason just not to drop the container! This was very inconvenient for me I will never use this company again! I would rather go with a company who isn’t having a deal than someone who is cause by not being able to get my container dropped ruined my whole plan of moving. Also if the driver even dropped the container to see if it will fit or tried to work something out they will charge you! This company needs to take their customers complaints seriously!

If I could leave 0 I would !! Was not charged price quoted, paid 380 for one month then was going to be charged 90 for pick up for a tiny unit!!! Called several times, was on hold twice over a half an hour and once 57 minutes, I ended up hanging up without speaking to anyone !! When I have finally gotten thru the person was very rude !! I would absolutely not recommend anyone use this company !!! Terrible, awful customer service !!! Funny thing when I selected option for new service someone answered immediately. Then transferred me and the automated service said I would have a wait time of over an hour !!

Scheduling was quick and easy. But the pod never arrived on the scheduled day, and would arrive the evening of the next day, to be picked up the morning of the very next day. We had to completely reschedule the pick up and placement of the pod. It was delivered. I hired movers to load the pod. On the new designated day for pickup, the driver discovered the pod was at a slight lateral angle, and could not be loaded. He left the pod in the middle of our driveway. The next day, a different driver arrived to pick up the pod, with the same truck, and left the pod in the middle of our driveway. I spoke with various people at customer service, and they said the supervisor would show up on Saturday with a crew to retrieve the pod. They never showed up.The bad news, I am starting a new job and needed to leave last week. Moving is stressful, and this has sent stress levels through the roof.Over the phone, the supervisor desired us to empty the pod. Bad news, we sold the house, and there is no place to unload. Packrat seems to refuse to bring another pod with workers to unload and reload. The problem is not weight, the problem is the lateral incline and gravity swinging the pod out laterally. This has been going on for ten days, and there is no sense of urgency with packrat. At this moment, the pod remains in the center of my driveway, loaded with all my basic belongings, no appliances or anything heavy, and the new owners are about to move in. Packrat acts and talks like this is my problem, not theirs But they are the ones who placed the pod for me to load.I am glad to say that the supervisor arrived at the last minute and was able to pick up the trailer and transport it to the warehouse.

Moving is stressful. This company made my move even more stressful. Communication between those at the national center and the local facilities is horrible. They often give you dates and times that they can’t possibly stick to. Their system doesn’t seem to update properly. They oscillated back and forth between telling my container was still and transit and had already arrived at the local facility. My delivery date was changed multiple times during one phone call. After 3 attempts to visit the local facility when I was told my container would be out for me to collect my things from there, I called the local facility. They said it would be out at 8 am the next day. 8 am the next day - I take off work to get there - it is still not outside. Each time I call the national number I’m on hold at least 20 minutes. I called yesterday and was on hold at least 25 minutes. After verifying my name, number, and billing information call was disconnected instead of putting me on hold. This is the absolute worst experience. I can’t wait to get my things and be done with this company as I truly regret ever going with them.

The storage unit was nice but the pricing was not up front too many hidden fees and charges renters beware I had to pay 285$ for being 1 day late on calling in for pick up I didn't mind a late fee but that is the cost of renting a unit a month if I would have known that I would have kept it but when I called to schedule pick up they told me on phone the pickup fee was 94$ then went and charged my account 285$. I had lost track of days I will use pods next time I rentUpdate: They charged my card another 100$ on top of the 285$ for pick up. Renters beware I don't normally write reviews but this is ridiculous and want to save somebody else the headache.

I wrote out the story of my nightmare with this company but it's so long it exceed the character count I'm allowed on a review. I'll leave it at this; I wasted days, energy, and thousands of dollars on this company. This is the most unprofessional company you could possibly imagine, do not trust with your personal belonging, avoid at all cost.

I chose pack rat for my moving and storage and I’m so happy I did. Start to finish I was provided with excellent care. Any questions or concerns was taken care of immediately. I have moved a lot over the years, moving is stressful, but they greatly eased some of that stress. And their prices are better than all the competitors. I highly recommend using them for moving or just storage.

Packrats told us 10 to 14 day delivery across country. What they failed to mention is that its only delivery to their closest storage facility. We called today after being told it would arrive on the 8th of july to learn they can not deliver until August. So now our family is without all of our things and no means to provide in our new home for our young children who are starting school at the beginning of August and us without what we need to begin jobs to provide for our family.PACK-RAT had over promised and under delivered. Now we will have to rent a U-Haul (something we should have done to begin with) and pay another months rent to acsess our container.Id suggest POD'S or renting a U-Haul truck even though they sell you on the fact that POD's doesn't include taxes.Recap: Spent 7k to move our container across country to be told we will not have our container delivered for another month after it arrives in our new state. Now we're left with wait and have nothing or spend at least $500 moving our things from the container with a U-Haul and likely still being charged another's month rent.

I genuinely cannot describe how horrible my experience with this business had been. Please do not use them. I have been using them for storage for several months local in Columbus. The issues started small, I asked for insurance on my pod and was told I'd be able to add it at pick up and then told I was not eligible for insurance because they were already picking it up. I called and asked about the cost of a potential long distance move and they quoted me over $3k. I decided to not do that and asked to just keep my storage unit as is until I figured out my plans. 3 days later I was charged vover $1500 for the long distance move I did not order. I had to spend hours on the phone to get my money back. Now I am trying to schedule a local drop off at a donation site and they are claiming I have almost $400 of due payments and won't move my unit until I pay this. I have paid rent every month without fail. Since they have had my property I have been misquoted, my account has been manipulated to artificially increase pricing, it has truly been a nightmare. They are essentially holding my property hostage. It would have been cheaper and less dramatic to throw away everything I own over dealing with this company. Do not use them.

Terrible experience!! My container was pickec up on Dec 8 to be transported to OK. I called on 12/30 to see about scheduling delivery the first week of January, at that time I was told it was still in OH and would take 10 business days. Total screw up!! I have ended up talking to probably 10 different people at this point too, nobody calls back like they say. I would not recommend EVER!

My compliant is regarding the company as a whole. They are very disorganized when it comes to their 1-800 number site and their local facilities. The local area representative misinformed me regarding the what is considered "storage" and that holding the container on my property instead of their storage facility would lessen the overall cost. It does not. To have the container in your possession necessitates a $350 fee each month, regardless of if the container is in their storage facility or your driveway. Now let's talk about their hidden fees associated with delivery and pickup. I received two wildly different charges from a drop off - pick up perspective and my container has yet to get to its final destination! Why would the pickup of an empty container cost twice as much as the delivery of a completely filled container? I was also told by the representative on the phone today that they have delivery/pickup charges she could not explain associated with gas and miscellaneous things. If you deal with this company you cannot rely on what you are told, but only what you read in your contract, because they do not hold their representatives accountable for what they tell customers. Also, do your self a favor and push them to give you a FULL quote of the actual costs associated with their service. I will end by saying that the service they provide is great and the people I have spoken with have been polite and courteous, but the company is ran very poorly and the billing is quite ridiculous and harder to understand than it should be. In my experience, those that make billing hard to understand do so on purpose to charge more for nothing.

While moving we had to utilize Pack Rat to move and store our items in between moves.Everyone my husband encountered while dealing with this company was helpful and kind. He had to make multiple calls because our dates kept changing.We had the pleasure of having Demetrius for both our pick up and delivery of the Pods. He was great with communicating about the the delivery and placement of the pods and was exceptionally kind and professional which you can’t always count on these days. Thank you guys for the great experience!

Look out for mystery charges, had to call multiple times to have them removed from my account. Seems like this is their normal practice to just add $20 or $30 randomly against your card without showing it on your account and waiting to see if you call them about it. Trash. Fraud. Don't use them.
