I stopped by Hammann’s Butcher Shop, Deli & Catering on Winton Road and tried their Italian sub with 2 sides — mustard potato salad and chips, plus a canned soda, all for $14.50.And let me tell you… THIS is the kind of local business I love supporting. 🙌
Everything was fresh, made to order, and actually tasted fresh, not something that's been sitting around all day. The Italian sub was loaded, the mustard potato salad was GOOD good, and for $14.50, I left feeling like I actually got a real lunch instead of donating $20 to the fast-food industry. 😂
But this place is WAY more than just sandwiches. They have a full butcher shop and deli, catering, boxed lunches, stuffed Servatii pretzels, party trays and charcuterie-style options, plus their own meats and sausages. They even offer whole-hog and half-hog packages and local farm-raised USDA Choice beef by the forequarter or hindquarter if you're looking to stock the freezer. 🥩🐖
They've been a family business in the area for decades, and you can definitely tell this isn't some giant chain trying to convince you it's “fresh.” This is an actual local butcher shop where quality meat, homemade items and old-school service are the whole point.❤
And if you're planning a party, wedding, office lunch or basically any event where you need to feed a small army, they do full-service catering too. Their menu includes everything from sandwich trays and stuffed pretzels to BBQ, smoked meats and larger catering spreads.
My first visit definitely won't be my last. I'm already eyeing that butcher counter like I don't have a freezer at home that's supposed to be full of food. 😂
