“I have never had to go back and change my review of a hotel before. However, in the ensuing time since I wrote the original review, this hotel has gone downhill. Their general manager Left for what I can only presume was having to deal with the owners. The lady who has replaced the general manager, Renee remains incredible. Without her. This place would have shut down long ago. There are a couple of other great employees here. However, there are a number of employees that aren't close to any type of standard you would hire for your own company. Fait is one of those employees. The attitude that she has with customers is beyond the pale. I have never seen an employee get away with yelling at a customer who was not being hostile to them.
Breakfast at this hotel is a constant problem. The breakfast area is a dirty mess and the food is cold. This is not just a one-off incident but rather a repeated problem over many months.
Additionally, the condition of the rooms is subpar for a Holiday inn Express. The conditions of the rooms are closer to what I would expect at a quality inn.
All in all, I've changed my review to reflect the declining service and quality that I've experienced over months at this hotel from when the initial review was written.
I'm leaving the initial review below so that everybody can see how much this hotel has changed due to mismanagement or general lack of management caring.

--------this is a good hotel. Quiet. Good location, not located against a highway or anything else loud. The insulation between floors and between rooms is very good.
Rooms are well cleaned. Staff is friendly and well managed by Brian, the gm.
The only thing that keeps it from five stars is maintaince. Things in the rooms work, but little things like caulking etc could be improved. Would give 4.75 if it was an option. Nike if that however prevents me from staying nor should it you. I would recommend highly”
“I love the look of the Grande Hall but unfortunately we won’t experience it in the way we would like. I inquired about a date over a week ago and was told by Shannon that it was available. She sent over the contract on 3/19 which was good for 10 days. I reached out to her multiple times through email, her personal number and the venue’s number but no answer about questions we had regarding the terms and conditions. Once 4 days went by I got concerned because we didn’t want to sign the contract without clarity because the deposit was also a lot of money. We figured that we probably shouldn’t sign at all let alone pay the deposit because we can’t even get in touch with anyone and that’s a big red flag. Well Shannon sends me a text message on the fifth day saying that she was out of office due to a shoulder injury and that she was getting all caught up at that moment with everyone and that she was going to reach out. We currently live abroad so I mentioned to her the time difference and that it would be best to reach out the next day (sixth day). She never reached out so now my fiancé and I confirmed that we shouldn’t go through the contract or deposit with this company. Although I still messaged her on the sixth day asking if she had a moment knowing I wouldn’t get a response, it was just very unprofessional on her end to not communicate or to not have a backup to assist with booking someone’s ceremony/wedding. We have been looking at this place for a while and took our time to find the perfect place so we thought for our big day just for it to be completely ignored. We would never inquire about services at this venue ever again or recommend to anyone who asks us. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else looking to celebrate something special at The Grande Hall. We are honestly happy it happened this way before our money was given away.

Jenna reached out to me due to my review being passed on to her. She worked to solve the problem before even reaching out to me which was great because it left no room for error or revisiting the problem. We loved how she mentioned that my review helped them within their company to make changes and not otherwise. Jenna immediately attended to how to fix the problem rather than what happen before. She offered a great deal and was still willing to offer that even if we decided to not try them again and that said so much from a business stand point but most importantly as a person. We are happy to say that we are having our wedding at The Grande Hall and since connecting with Jenna we have had nothing less than what we expected. Everyone that we are working with has went above and beyond to our needs and we appreciate that more than anything!”
“My friends and I had a wonderful time at America's Packard Museum! The vehicles on display were gorgeous and carefully maintained, and we learned so much about the detailed history of each one from an extremely helpful docent who was very patient with our many questions. We especially appreciated a number of features about early (and current) contributions of women in automotive history, most of which were new to us.”

“We are so grateful for the help of our wedding coordinator, Judy. We were nervous about remotely planning a wedding in a city we didn't know - that changed after our first meeting with her! We could tell we were in good hands. She consistently went above and beyond to ensure our big day was everything we wanted.
TEC coordinated all the essentials for our event: linens, food, wait staff, bar staff, music, setup in the morning through cleaning at the end of the reception. Judy walked us through all the details and didn't miss a thing. She even made sure we discussed items beyond our TEC package, like flowers and photos, and was able to recommend some wonderful vendors for those services.
Things went perfectly the day of our wedding. All the staff was very friendly and professional. Aside from a brief huddle first thing in the morning, I was free to focus on getting ready with my bridal party. Everything was handled. It was really nice that us and our families were able to just enjoy the day. There's nothing about it I would change.

“I attended the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy at Brightside. I was surprised, I did not know about this gem before hand. I love the style and the acoustics was very nice. Parking is an issue. Arrive early, car pool, or public transportation should be considered.”
“Very nice space which served as the perfect location for my daughter's post-wedding brunch! Clean, spacious, and reasonable rates! Tucked back in the layout but easy enough to find when guests are told directly across from the Delco Park entrance. Would use it again for sure!”

“We LOVE Busy Kids. My four year old has so much fun but goes through phases of being too scared to go into class (because there might be a new teacher and he does not like change). The teachers are always so wonderful and understanding while trying to help him feel more comfortable. The teachers are attentive and energetic. We had his 4th birthday party there as well and it was fantastic!! They really do take care of everything! Highly recommend!”

“Was there for a birthday celebration. The place had more than enough room for tables and an area to serve food. Also had a decent sized kitchen to store or warm up additional food. Will look into potentially renting banquet in the future.”
“Did a walk thru of this establishment for my wedding/reception and was very impressed. Chapel is very nice, clean and has comfortable seating. Bride and groom rooms are spacious and really nice. The venue is upstairs with full kitchen and plenty of seating and separate entrance. Owners are very nice and explained everything in detail. They also have Dayton's first and only Pickleball facility with 4 full courts and concession area. Plenty of parking and space in a very nice area off highway.”

“Wonderful staff, friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to everything. Clean, economical, bed was super comfortable, restaurant has a nice variety of dishes, convenient. Would definetly stay here again. Pool was nice.”
“The Mandalay is always a great venue for large events. The reception room is a bit small for having 75 people plus tables for food, but the main room was nice. The chairs are comfortable and the linens were very nice. The food was chicken, vegetables and the sauce was nice. The butter selection was impressive. The restrooms were clean and parking was easy.”

“The Hope Hotel is a nice, but older style, hotel connected to Wright Patterson AFB. I have to disagree with most of the negative review as we were there last week for a Phan Rang AB Vietnam Reunion and found it comfortable. The staff always went beyond expectations to assure our needs. Thank you so much!”
“Concession stand is slow, but the theater is comfortable and clean so all in all pretty good
As an update, concessions are being handled using one line and next available attendant approach. This is better. I would suggest having your snacks ordered ahead of time and sent to your seat”
