Gear Up Velo is a great local bike shop. The owner and staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They provide excellent customer service and are considered a class act. They are competent, thorough, and patient in explaining mechanical work. The quality of their work is excellent and their communication is too. They are very fairly priced for labor. They handle a wide range of services from simple repairs and adjustments to complex custom builds and wheel work like truing and bearings. They help customers get back on the road quickly, even dropping what they are doing to assist. They are willing to work on challenging builds and bicycles not originally purchased from them, explaining their policies clearly. The shop is very busy, which is a sign they are doing something right, though it can sometimes mean a wait for service. They are highly recommended by their customers.
AMAZING service at a fair price! I stopped in with my daughter’s bike, after a minor accident, and they were able to replace the rim immediately. What a gem for the city of Independence!

I went to Matt for a professional bike fit & it was hands down one of the coolest experiences. Science + cycling for hours. My bike feels like a dream now! I also brought another bike in for a tune up! Everyone there is amazing & they had great music playing! Thank you!!
