“It’s such a nice feeling to be a part of what the kids’ book bank is doing. My son and I volunteer at the book bank together (nice way to spend quality time with your teen, by the way) and really appreciate their mission.”
“This was such an amazing experience, I’m really greatful to the people who work here and helped us get a bike for my 10 year old! As someone who doesn’t know anything about cycling it was really intimidating trying to find a good bike that didn’t break the bank. It was the only place we went where we didn’t feel like they were hustling us for money. You can tell they are passionate about what they are doing. I wish I remeber the name of the older gentleman who helped us, but he’s the real deal and I’m so glad people like him are out there in our community helping people like me and spreading the joy of cycling and helping folks who don’t have a ton of extra money be able to enjoy the sport and pass it on to their kids. Thank you so much Ohio city bicycle co-op, you brought so much happiness to my son and my whole family! Highly recommend anyone looking to get into the sport or looking for your kids to stop in here, these guys are the best !”

Today I did something that means a lot to me.
I cut my hair and donated it to help children who have lost their hair.
I loved my long hair, and saying goodbye to it wasn’t easy. But I knew that it could help another child feel like themselves again.
As my hair was being cut, I wasn’t thinking about what I was losing. I was thinking about what someone else might gain.
A little more confidence…
A little more comfort…
And maybe a bigger smile…
This experience taught me that kindness doesn’t have to be big to make a difference.
My hair will grow back, but the hope and happiness it may bring to another child could last much longer.

“I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting anyone from Thrive For Change in person, but I can confidently state that the staff and volunteers involved with this non-profit harm reduction service are compassionate, dedicated, and truly remarkable individuals. I am incredibly thankful for the supplies and educational materials I receive through their mail order program; they are truly life-saving. I am certain that they will continue to expand and be able to assist an increasing number of people. “This place is within Gunning Park, which was named for my Grandfather Thomas J. Gunning, he was a long time Councilman in Cleveland and served a term as President of Council. He was also a Lawyer and had a practice on Lorain Avenue for over 3o years. this place is well maintained and the staff is excellent. Special thanks to Marie Russell, who showed us around and had taken it upon herself to learn quite a bit about my GrandFather. thanks Marie and staff.”

“I love this community garden. Organic vegetables fresh from the garden/farm at a price you can afford. Donation based farmer's market. Take what you need, pay what you can. There is always something to do. Kids are welcome and cherished here, plenty of space to run and play. Always welcoming with a wide range of classes.”
“The Gathering Place (East and West locations) provides incredible supports to families / individuals touched by cancer personally, as caregivers, and for those grieving loss of a loved one due to cancer. Definitely connect with them to identify services and programs to support you and your family in cancer battle. The free in person Cancer Fighting Kitchen cooking classes are amazing opportunities to learn new recipes to support your self and your family in recovery or as working for prevention. There are so many ways they stand beside families in their cancer journey for which our family is incredibly grateful.”
“My cousin took me this store about a month and half ago to look some affordable furniture for my bedroom. I seen a nice queen size bed pieces. We come back the about a week ago. It was still there. I got it , then I got the bedroom dresser, an end table, a lamp, A tv stand for my living room, I got my cousin a chair and he loves. My bedroom furniture I love it so much. I got a queen size bed set for an another. It all works out. The people who were there are so nice.”
“Great little thrift store! They have a great selection of used Furniture, Clothes, Books, and household goods and decor. The stock rotates pretty quickly, so you can expect to see new items every couple of weeks.It is actually a Charity shop as well. So all the proceeds go to helping the community!They run a food pantry on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12-2.The Thrift store is open Thursday and Saturday from 9-5.”

“A fairly friendly VFW Post, my family came up for their chicken dinner. I'm not sure why they are only doing only cash in this day and age but it is a very nice place to visit and grab a drink.”
“This store had an awesome selection of goods. My son found a lot of clothing still new with tags and priced fairly and also preloved items still in great shape. The new items were not overpriced like some places will do if the item has tags. The store was clean and well organized. They didn't have products way high out of reach. Only issue I had was the picture/picture frame wall. It was very hard to see what was behind the 1st one because of the chance of breakage by falling. They were stacked 6 to 7 deep at some spots. I understand space is an issue but it did keep me from shopping that section. I did find a beautiful hummingbird painting where the larger art & mirrors were placed next to fitting rooms. It was signed by a well known Chinese artist. After some research I found it is selling for quite a bit more than I bought it for no matter if its a reproduction or real painting. So I'm excited to get that looked at by a Pro and I love hummingbirds. Overall both my son and myself really enjoyed the store and will definitely be back. Oh and can't forget about the staff! The ones I interacted with were polite and knowledgeable. Even seeing them with other guests was the same.”
“You can call 211 to get a ONE TIME ONLY food referral and sign up for it monthly once you get there. They also serve FREE breakfast and lunch to those in need monday- friday. I think they also let you shower there if needed but im not exactly sure how that goes.”
“Love the outreach they do for the Madison - West Blvd- Cudell neighborhood of Cleveland. I have been to their meals because I do work in the area on West 117th and it's convenient way on a Sunday evening to get a quick wonderful hot meal.”
“I work out at the Y every morning, and it’s been awesome! The facility is always clean, the equipment is in great shape, and there’s plenty of variety for different types of workouts. The atmosphere is positive and welcoming, which makes it a great way to kick off the day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable place to stay fit!””
