Marion Community Foundation is a public charity and a wonderful, trusted resource for the Marion County community. Since 1998, it has served as a lifeline and a foundation with the heart of the community at the top of its agenda. Individuals, families, businesses and organizations create permanent charitable funds there, which the Foundation invests and administers. The Foundation is instrumental in assisting non-profit organizations meet community needs and is a fruition for youth, non-profits, and business. It awards over $2.5 million annually in grants and scholarships. These grants support many humanitarian, educational, and cultural organizations, helping to mentor youth, empower women, and impact the diverse community. The Foundation also helps donors set up funds, such as memorial scholarships, taking care of all administrative and legal tasks so that their philanthropy can continue forever. It is an excellent organization to work with both as a donor and as a grantee.
The MCF has always been very generous to the historic Palace Theatre. This year they are sponsoring the School Matinee Series through the Poorman, Wopat and Heinzmann funds
